My wife bought me a 3in King Cobra for V day. I shot it better than my 4in 686. I just had to have this one.I love 3in 357's!
And unfluted cylinders!
Nice!
I watched this one at the LGS for quite some time. Nobody would adopt it. So I decided to take it home with me today. I did have to part ways with my 4in 686+ but I’m sure he understands. I’m sure he’ll get adopted soon. View attachment 900842
Its a meatbag thing, your governing algorithm wouldnt get it.CAN THAT 686 MOVE ON ITS OWN? WHEN YOU SAY IT FOLLOWED YOU YOU WERE MOVING TO YOUR HOME AND IT WAS MOVING BEHIND YOU AT THE TIME YOU WERE MAKING THAT TRIP? YOU THINK THE 4 IN WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT?
Definitely going to look for some rubber grips. They busted my thumb within two cylinders.Cant say I care for the grips, but there are certainly plenty of L frame alternatives out there. Nice wheelgun, OP!
HOW DID YOU WIN THE MATCH?I have a six inch old 686+. I bought it to compete with 1911s in bowling pin matches. Won way more than I lost. Now it is my go-to for ammo testing, burning up stuff that didn't work out in other 38s, and sitting with me in the blind.

It is one of the 3-5-7 series. A hogue grip is definitely needed. The wood grips look great but they are not comfortable.Nice pick up there!
I think that's one of the special runs ...S&W 686 3-5-7 Magnum Series 3" Unfluted Cylinder TALO Exclusive
They made them in 3", 5", & 7", thus 3-5-7 series.
I've had the 5" one for many years now and really love it. That said, I hated the custom wood grip and swapped out for a Hogue synthetic one.

Wonderful choice. I have one just like it and I really enjoy it.I watched this one at the LGS for quite some time. Nobody would adopt it. So I decided to take it home with me today. Welcome to the forum. He was just using a little humor in his post. He's not insane and doesn't think his gun is alive. And holy Hanna, please turn off the caps lock. You're screaming at us and it makes your post harder to read.CAN THAT 686 MOVE ON ITS OWN? When I got mine I realized what a totally useless grip it had on it. It's way too narrow for anyone but people with the smallest of hands. I immediately replaced mine with these closed backstrap grips from Nill before ever shooting it.I don’t know. It did bite me though, guess it needs a little training. View attachment 900955
Yep they are a Talo distributor gun. they still make all three of them. I am thinking about picking up the 5" model to go with my 3" one. I like unfluted cylinders, especially on revolvers that hold an uneven number of rounds.Nice pick up there!

changed the grips out to VZ grey a lot better when using full house loads
VZ 320 round bottom look at their site have 3 sets of their grips
