2400 seems to be popular with 44 mag as well (I don't have one yet and I've been eyeballing one and reloads are much cheaper than factory). I'm using Lee powder measure and doesn't leak like H110.

No one is knocking your titegroup 4.5gr, if you have load data for it and the powder, give it a world.

I recently started reloading and already have 3 different powders just trying to figure out whats safe and works well.

You are going to like the 2400 in either cartridge. No laughing here. Titegroup works good and is nice to have on the shelf.

I'm loading up some 158 Rainer (I think, they are Midway bulk) 158 plated FP with 5.4 gr. #AA5, CCI 500 primers, OAL of 1.43", very light roll crimp.

Be careful about using 2400 and lead SWC bullets unless you have gas-checked bullets. Pushing lead too fast. like with a full load magnum powder, can cause serious leading. Get some plated, coated or jacketed bullets for the fast moving stuff.

Wow, 2400 really gets that bullet going Of course the grains on that starts at 18. But initial speeds are ~!300. Guess that's a true magnum. Seeing those figures, It seems like I'm playing with +p loads at best. I don't think my 357 will even wake up.

Everyone on the forum must be laughing at my post. 4.5 grains of Titegroup for 357, how cute..... LoL

I plan on using speer 125 fmj hollow points. For 44 magnum, I was thinking about Berry's 44 FP plated bullets. They are heavy but I may have to go and get FMJ bullets for the 44, based on the speeds indicated in the reloading Manuals. Thx

Lswc and 14.0 2400 in a good lswc will be an excellent load for the 357. Folks smarter than me said that this combination was used in earlier 357 factory ammo with no leading issues and I have bi issues in my revolvers or my marlin.

14 grains of 2400 with a 158 lead swc gives me zero leading in a gp100. I'm using laser cast bullets- they're a bit expensive but I've gotten very good results. I have some MBC bullets on the way, going to see if I get the same results. I produce this load by the hundreds and have for years. Simple & works great for many of us.

This bin holds 400 357s, I keep it on my bench and dump them in as I make more. When that gets full I dump it into an ammo can and keep going . the load with 2400 mentioned before is 90% of the 357 loading I do. Made this 200 last night, same load.

Oh that's nice and shiny.

I have acme red coated swc bullets. It says it's supposed to eliminate leading. But I don't know if there would be issues at the speeds magnum bullets are supposed to generate using 2400.

Should be just fine. I've used coated , I typically don't use them because I haven't had a need and they smell a little funky when you shoot indoors. If I had a leading issue that couldn't be easily solved I would certainly switch to coated.
I'm hoping the ruger 77/357 I should be picking up today will like this load too, we'll see.

I tried setting it for a light crimp. Since I've started on the Hornady, been playing with the seat and crimp in one pull. It is a tad more difficult than keeping the processes sperate. May have to go back and separate each step. Thx

Yep definitely need more crimp. Little expensive and your die probably will work but for me I liked to use this die in the last station.

I recently tried .357 loads using 13.6gr. 2400 behind an Acme 158 semi wadcutter and got zero leading. They are just as accurate or about 1.5" groups at 25 yards in my Dan Wesson.

The 158 gr lswc will work well with your 2400 powder @ 13.0 grs in 357 magnum. I use a WSPM primer that makes more pressure then a standard primer. Fyi.
I use the mag primer for a thicker cup to avoid pierced primers.

This may start the primer debate again. Standard vs Magnum. Hope not.

Test both for accuracy.

44 Magnum-
A 240/250 gr lswc & Alliants Unique powder @ 10.2 grs with a WLP primers is an accurate loading. Its near maximum for the powder. Work up as always. Great powder if you want less recoil. Start with 8.8 grs.

For more velocity Win 296 @ 23 grs is my loading.

I've read numerous positive reviews on Unique. Haven't had the opportunity to try it out. Will probably do so once this panic is over and things get back to normal. At least I was able to get an order in for 2400. Not that I'm hurting for powder. I -as most reloaders- keep extra quantities in stock. THX
