Hello gentlemen
I have been offered in trade the above-mentioned 1911 sig emperor scorpion that is coated in shiny stylish FDE finish and has night sights.
Has had just enough rounds through it to begin breaking it in approximately 100
And is said to cycle defensive ammo perfectly.
I am always cautious with 1911's due to problems I've experienced with them cycling anything other than baller Full metal jacket ammo which to me makes them fairly useless so I usually avoid them.

I know very little about this model but the trade would be for 300 Win Mag Savage 116 stainless steel rifle that has been bedded in a Hogue stock and has a SightTron 3 SS 4 -24 x 50 mm long range scope mounted on it, the barrel is threaded and has a good muzzle brake installed

what can y'all tell me about the quality reliability and value and shoot ability and accuracy another prime characteristics of this 1911 45 ACP?

Also if you could choose between this pistol and STI nitro 10 10 mm would it be a no-brainer to take the STI or would this gun still be in competition?
I'm having a hard time finding any price comps on the STI nitro 10 my impression is that it's a little more valuable and more rare
But the emperor scorpion looks good and seems to have good reviews

You don't seem to like 1911s or, with respect, know very much about them (your belief that they only handle ball ammunition, which has not been true of virtually any commercial pistol produced in the last 25 years, for example), so it may be best to pass on these and stick with what you know and like.

They are both very good pistols, made by reputable companies, and will, barring the unforeseen defect, be accurate. Only you can determine whether they are equal in worth to what sounds like a rather nice rifle indeed.

The SIG 1911 in question is a fully functional, reliable and accurate 1911 with everything one needs on a defensive 1911. The SIG 1911s typically handle factory JHPs with no problems.

Personally, I'm not into 10mm at all and I am not a fan of STI pistol; it's possible that STI might retail for more than the SIG, but what are you really looking for? With an inexpensive scope on the Savage rifle, I think you'd be getting the better end of the deal in a trade for the SIG.

Respectfully I have to disagree about 1911's as my personal experience has shown them to be problematic with anything other than ball ammunition and even manufacturer's recommendations on them mention using primarily ball ammunition.
This may be more true of 10 mm and I admit my experience with 1911's is limited.

The guy added $125 to the deal and I currently own 4 300 Win mags so I'm going to go ahead and give it a try and give Sig another chance as this pistol is beautiful and well-reviewed and both of you guys at the high road and the owner say it's cycles defensive ammo reliably

Depending on the condition, I'd go for the STI, but only because I don't care for the Emperor Scorpion variant.

By most accounts I've read, Sig 1911's are good reliable guns. The only issue I've heard of is some of them had tight chambers a few years ago. Haven't heard that in awhile though.

I agree with DocRock, while both are good options for the 1911 user, you'd be better served by passing on both models.

Don't really care for the rail on the SIG Emperor Scorpion or the fastback model either, but that's just me. If you're looking for a quality 1911 I think the SIG would make for an excellent choice and I would make the trade.

And my Taurus PT1911($500 list) so far chews up & spits out any ammo I feed it without a hiccup. I have yet to try any of the "flying ashtrays," however.

While I love my loaded Sig 1911, I’d pick the STI every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If you read what I said I was judging by a brand new Ruger 1911 from 2018

And if a guy spanks like I said I got the emperor scorpion + 125 cash and a box of 44 Magnum ammo and I still have three other 300 Win mags so I'm good to go

I owned a Sig GSR 1911 that was 100% right out of the box with any ammo I fed it.

I own a Sig Nightmare Carry 1911 and it's likewise 100%.

If you're looking at an authentic 1911A1 - true, it might not feed HPs well or at all. It's kind of stupid to believe some armchair 'expert' thought of something the engineers at Sig Sauer overlooked. Sig 1911s are among the best non-custom 1911s on the market. In fact, If I wanted another dolled up 1911 it would be either Sig or Dan Wesson.
