How to carry with sweatpants

In that situation, I would go with a belly band. I'm not a huge fan for heavy guns, but they work well for lighter guns.

I used to keep a clip draw on my 642. Despite their general dislike around here, I find them to be a viable choice for IWB carry for guns with stiff triggers if a holster is impractical. I wouldn't carry a gun with a passive safety and lighter weight trigger using one (Like a Glock).

Inwould think a belly band would be more secure. Plus they usually have an extra pocket sewn in. When I wear mine, I usually do so in more crowded areas where I want to keep my gun close to my body and want to scale down all the stuff I keep on my belt or in my pockets. I sometimes keep my phone and/wallet in the other pocket. Much more secure than my back pocket.

When I had a knee operation shorts were the order of the day; a LOT less knee bending and a lot easier to put on. Then use your current method.

Due to a knee injury, I need to wear a knee brace. The one I have won’t fit over my pants, so now I’m forced to wear sweatpants.

I used to appendix or pocket carry J Frames. They are way to heavy for my pants. Has any body carried wearing sweats and how do you do it?

thanks
Done so more than a few times [ 2 total knee replacements ].

Just went for a walk with wife,S&W 360PD in shoulder rig with spare ammo on off side [ and a pocket blade & walking stick ].

But I found that with really loose and as long as possible BDU's,you can wear an ankle rig as I do to the gym.

As well as the mentioned belly bands,or pocket holster in BDU pants pocket..

If it is just a jframe, and you don't want to deal with a complete Miami style shoulder rig, might want to consider a TRU-SPEC 24-7 Series Short Sleeve Concealed Holster Shirt.

I carry around the house all the time in pajama/sweatpants as long as you have a nice drawstring and a relatively lighter firearm say a Ruger LCP you can easily do it. I heaver one as well just a little harder to pull off.

Belly band with a jframe worked fine for me when I used to carry while running, should work fine here too.

Eventually decided I prefer my normal EDC on the shelf next to my treadmill for workouts. Easier

When I'm not working i'm typically in basketball shorts or sweatpants. The trick is to make sure they have a good drawstring that can be tied tight and stays tight. Newer ones tend to work better than older pairs. I normally daily carry at about 2-3 o'clock, with shorts and sweatpants I tend to go more the appendix route. I use the same holster regardless of where i'm carrying, even when off body bag carrying I have rigged it to where the same holster works in bag. But that is for the few seldom times I cant have on body but still want it within arms length.

I have heard others that say they still use a belt underneath the shorts to keep it in place better.

I'm always amazed when people can easily carry a normal holster when wearing gym shorts. I'm lucky my gym shorts can stay up with only my keys, wallet, and phone in the pockets.

Even when I was in the best shape of my life 10 years ago this was an issue. Now that my shape is basically round its a bigger problem. :D

I just tried to go for a run with a jframe in a desantis softuck and didn't make it out the door because of the awkwardness. That said, I could manage doing daily activities with it holstered or in a pocket as long as the drawstring is tight. I feel for you, OP. Jeans are a luxury I didn't know were a luxury.

Uncle Nick holster with reversable clip (inside or outside pants) and Sportsman's Warehouse 2" wide Carhartt suspenders with some kind of outer shirt.

If you want, the string can ne replaced with a 1" wide web belt, inside the string channel, not pulled tight; will lend rigidity for gun suppprt. Retain the suspenders; load is carried by the shoulders, not the hips

I wear my normal carry belt and holster with warm ups or shorts all the time at home. No belt loops needed. Usually I’ll go a notch looser because I’m stuffing my face to no end and want to be comfortable.

I have several shoulder holsters. The only one that does not attach to my belt is a Miami Classic.

So all you people that are recommending shoulder holsters - how do you attach them to the belt of your sweatpants? Or am I the only one that still uses a vertical shoulder holster?

I tried the belt under the shorts today during a grocery run. Definitely works better as I usually have to retie the shorts when getting out the car to make sure they stay up. Might be my new go to for shorts and sweats carry.
