Dead Air Keymo adapter to silencerco

So if you like the dead air QD keymount, but on a silencerco omega, they make this.

Would this qualify as a regulated suppressor part? Or as an adapter? Would I have to take additional legal steps, or could I just buy it?

I’m trying to follow law as best I can without enrolling in law school myself!
 
AFAIK, since I've found you can find muzzle brakes that use suppressor mounts, it would just qualify as an adapter.
The regulated parts are actual suppressor parts involved in their function.
But that opinion is from the observation of a layperson, not that of a court or lawyer.
 
Those aren’t considered regulated “silencer parts” by the ATF, which is why you can order them online like any other unregulated parts.
 
There are many mounts available in Omega pattern, also sometimes called Bravo, nominally 1-3/8 24 TPI mounting system.

Additionally, many suppressors besides SilencerCo models have Omega pattern threads. YHM Turbo T2, Resonator R2 and Turbo K, EA Vox, Rex Silentium stuff, several others.

Omega pattern has become a sort of industry standard. People started asking me about making it work in other cans with proprietary mounts, and the Omega conversion was born. Cut off proprietary mount, bore & thread core, make custom 17-4 adapter, screw it in, weld it, internally thread it & refnish:

The other mount pictured on the left of the OP's image is a Saker ("Charlie") style mount, is a 1-3/8 32 TPI external thread with an internal taper for which only SilencerCo makes cans, and only Dead Air and Griffin offer mount adapters.
 
@MachIVshooter, any update on when you'll be able to weld titanium? You did a great job converting three of my AAC suppressors to the 1.375-24 thread pattern but my AAC MARK13-SD just sits in the safe. :D

@Jessesky, I've been using one of those KEY-MO mounts for a few years now and it works well.
 
I have welded titanium. I didn't think it was that difficult. Just have to clean it like aluminum and back purge it like a stainless steel sanitary weld.

I was hoping for March or April, but I got absolutely buried. I have nearly 100 cans here for service right now. I'm also trying to get my new shop buttoned up so I can move out there, which is ever more pressing, especially since I just purchased a 3 axis Mazak lathe with a bar feeder and live tooling. Once I can get that going, though, nearly all the time I spend cutting baffles, boosters, adapters, etc. on my manual machines will be freed up for other things.

It's not at all difficult to make a pretty weld with Ti. Not compromising the material is another matter entirely, though. Welding Ti requires an inert atmosphere, more than high cup flow and back purging can provide. Otherwise you end up with hydrogen embrittlement in the HAZ. In some applications that may not matter, but for suppressors it certainly does.
