Guys I have a problem I'm sure many of you have. I cannot stop acquiring, cleaning, trying to fix up, test fire, target shoot, display, etc, antique revolvers. Just a month or two ago I purchased my iver johnson hammerless, and now I need to get more locking storage space! I think I'll have enough work on my hands to take it easy for a while.

Also if anyone has any pre 1899 revolvers they want to get rid of cheap feel free to let me know.

Good evening. My name is Jeff and I am a revolver-holic. Especially single action revolvers. It started so innocently with a brass frame cap and ball percussion repro and a third hand Ruger Single-Six convertible. Then came the Ruger Old Army and a long barrel 45 Colt/45acp Blackhawk. Soon it's not enough to have a caliber, you need that caliber in different barrel lengths. Maybe stainless. Or more ornate grips. Then the nights spent cleaning, polishing, fondling, and reloading to feed them. It's a sickness I tell you. (Sobs quietly)

And my wife doesn't understand. She's perfectly content with her CZ75b and Ruger Mk IIs.
Actually, I think she's relieved it isn't cars or power boats or even collectible guns. Since most were Rugers accumulated 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) hand spread over decades the cost wasn't a problem. And she, gem that she is, has brought quite a few to my attention. :D Yes, I am darn lucky.

Jeff

There are worse problems to have. You probably also need to get into blackpowder cartridge reloading, if you aren't already.
Yea I need to learn. Luckily most of these are .32 short and I for now have plenty. I do need to learn this

And hello everyone on glad to have so many friends!

So one of those lovely guns is an iver johnson american bulldog. For some reason to me it seemed as if it were out of time. It was really dirty and grimy on the inside and I cleaned and oiled it up. Loaded it up with spent cartridges, and the primer seems to be align. When it's completely unloaded it seems more out of time.

If its fired at all it will not be by hand at first. But before that I would like to be sure it's in perfect time.

Fellas... cigarette butts fit perfectly into spent .32 short.

With my spent. 32 cigarette bullets it seems fully in time

makes me drool a little to see a revolver in a pic getting all cleaned up … only done a few, looks almost exactly like a few pics I've taken when cleaning up something older, but new to me … feel the same excitement looking at that picture as I did when it was me doing it … if only I had more time and money.

Boats and motorcycles are a lot more expensive than old revolvers, or old German guns, or old Japanese guns, or discarded muzzleloaders... but I have a very specific desire when it comes to S&W revolvers. Especially in “shooter grade” guns.

And tools too... that Clausing still preds has turned into a wonderful piece of machinery in my garage.

Problem? I don't see no problem! It only becomes a problem until you 1) run out of storage space in your safe, or 2) run out of money to buy more!

I don't have enough money to impulse buy. I have to consider very carefully about weather we need it or not and will we use it.:scrutiny: We like to use or purchases that we spend our hard earned money on.

The only problem I see is the Ensure on the bench. Possible overpressure due to excessive gas issues!:D

"I can stop any time I want to."

Try to get where it's a tax deduction? If the licensing on guns themselves is a hurdle you don't want to jump, start a business that is more foundational..... what else can utilize the equipment/environment required in your hobby?

Almost didn't respond but it isn't political.... it's straight up entrepreneurship. Look into how the IRS can work FOR you,not an adversary. We did it in machine and equipment rebuilding. Good luck with your project.

I recommend starting a heroin addiction.

It's cheaper than revolvers, and easier to keep under control.
