Just to show that I do live in the modern world at times here is My AR that started out as a S&W M&P OR. After it's latest massage this is what it looks like except the eyes are coke can red.

Dropping back into the late '40's here is the HIgh Standard HDM I inherited from my dad along with the holster it came in. This is a very accurate old gun and I have popped a bunch of jackrabbits with it.

Ruger Old Army with a brass grip frame I ran across when they were reasonably cheap and refinished grips. Fill this thing up with 4F and a round ball and have some fun. Lotsa' smoke and a big boom. iNt2BISl.jpg

Once upon a time I made knives and sheaths and I made this one for my grand daughter. The zebra stripe craze was in full swing and she requested a zebra striped sheath with pink trim. Some white latigo leather, a little black dye, some pink lace, and a little black garment leather on the top to set it off and it was done. They don't show up very well in the picture but there is a small turquoise stone set in each side of the ebony handle.

Well I have had a Rossi Model 92 for quite a few years now and it most definitely has a side loading gate. Are you sure your not thinking about the Henry Lever Action Rifle instead?

And the curved butt plate on my .45 Colt Model 92 doesn't bother my shoulder at all.

That's interesting.
When I started looking at various leverguns 7-8 years ago at local stores, neither the Uberti, Winchester, Rossi, or Henry had side loading gates. Add to that, the first three were also top eject, making it difficult to place a scope.

Doubleh, you can't see the smile on my face now as I wear the Corolla virus mask. :)
Your snaps warm my soul. I also have my fathers HDM. I think he traded a mint artillery luger for it back in the 50's. He said the luger was worth $50 back then. It was a .30 luger and the ammo was $10.00 a box. That's way more than he wanted to spend on plinking ammo. I gave him $110 for it back in the 1960's. It is the most accurate pistol I have ever had the pleasure of shooting. Yes, I wish he had kept the luger!

Nice AR and blade! I love the Magpul MOE slim stocks but I hate having to drill the rivet and take off the front sling loop. One of these days I'm going to fire up the mill and figure out an extension that drops a clevis down through a hole in the stock so I can remount the loop. I built one a couple months ago almost identical to your OD one. I really like OD, don't think Magpul offers their mags in OD anymore.

Sheesh! Gunny! don't let Nancy Pelocsi" see that blade. She'd have a democratic fit and introduce 10 new bills over it. On second thought put a pistol grip on it and maybe it will be fatal! :)

I bought that Spartan sword just to take that pic.:)
You don’t have to drill out the rivet on the sling swivel. Just use a punch that will fit in the hole in the end and give it a good wack with a hammer. The rivet will pop out. You can then mount a swivel in the M-Loc slot on the bottom of the handguard.

That sword is heavier then the rifle.

Haha, Corolla virus....either very clever or the best Autocorrect fail Ive seen lately!

Interesting damage to the receiver and stock.

First glance @ front receiver ring looks like a failed attempt to strike an arc w/electric welder (as a self taught dauber, I have lots of experience with such ) but that is highly unlikely....and then there's the adjacent damage to stock???

No idea what could cause the notch in the tang.

If only these old war horses could talk. Any theories as to cause?

Regards,
hps

Could be shrapnel damage but we will never know. If only it could talk. The stock is not original since it shows no damage in the area of the receiver tang.
