I'd like to sell one of my Glocks. I've got 3 G19's. A GEN3, GEN4 and a GEN5. All are black with NS's and no add on's/upgrades. All are in LN condition. I've owned Glocks since the '90's but I'm a revolver/1911 guy and really don't keep up with Glock's Gen changing technology. Which one would you sell?

I'd probably sell the Gen 3. My preference in Glock Gens is:

5 > 2 > 4 > 3

I generally don't even think about Gen 1 since you almost never see them.

That said, the differences between all of them are very minor IMHO, so even though I have a preference order it's sort of splitting hairs.

I'd shoot all three in a range session and pick the one you like the least to sell. I'd say that, given what you have, personal preference and/or gun-to-gun variation is more of an issue than any of the features that differ from generation to generation.

Sell all three and get another 1911 or revolver. If you decide you want another Glock in the future you can go get one.

Ranges here are all closed due to covid. I like the GEN3 because the finish on it seems superior to the 4 or 5. I like the GEN5 because of the lack of finger grooves. I had thought maybe the Glock recoil spring tech had advanced or regressed enough to help with a choice. I sold the GEN4 to a friend this A.M.. I agree the G19 is probably the best and most utilitarian plastic choice for HD/Carry. I've got a 12yr. old dog that needs some expensive care, I'll sell everything if I need to.. Thank you all for your advice and opinions.

I would keep the Gen5. The Gen4 and 5 have a shorter length of pull the the other Gen’s. They also have the back straps that you can add if you have larger hands.
I understand the love for old dogs. I have one that is 11 and he is having trouble with his back legs. He doesn’t hear or see as good any more. But here’s the best dog I’ve ever had. But I know that the day is coming when I will have to have him put down. I just don’t see me spending the money to prolong his life, because he will just be in pain. I just can’t be that selfish just because I will miss him. When his time comes I will dig the hole with my own hands and cover him with dirt and say my goodbyes.
I will get another dog and hope that it can live up to the one I have now and bring the love and joy that this old dog sitting next to me has done.

It's definitely a tough call when an old 4-legged pal starts to go downhill fast. Expensive treatments are questionable at best, and often we undertake them to the detriment of our pups.

I will tell you all one thing I've found that absolutly has helped my current 7 year old pointer/lab/shephard mix with his chronic joint issues...CBD oil. My dog would constantly be limping after long walks and any hard running he'd do.

My vet wanted to do surgery, but I had zero interest spending $5,000 on something I thought was a 50% shot at best. My vet then said I should try CBD as an alternative. After 5 days on CBD oil, no more limping in over 2 years!

This is the best source I've found for it. If you are a disabled vet or on limited income, they have some excellent plans to offset your costs: https://www.lazarusnaturals.com/shop/pet-products

If you have an old dog, CBD is a blessing to them. And to be honest, it's been a blessing to me as well...just stick to an independently tested, made in the USA product.

Sell all the Glocks
What part of the OP’s question suggest he wants to sell all of them?
OP wants to sell "one" of the Glock 19s.
I'd like to sell one of my Glocks. I've got 3 G19's.
Glocks are modular guns assembled from mass produced parts. Depending on the parts, they could shoot differently from another and why I dry fire before I buy and choose the one that does not move/jump the front sight when the striker is released. Yes, YOUR Glocks definitely may not shoot as well as or better than MY Glocks. ;)

As others posted, I would do comparison range test and sell the one that produces the largest group consistently.

Daisy and Patty. Daisy up top. Daisy has multiple problems now surfacing most likely due to bad breeding. Shes doing O.K. but monthly heart meds are around $200 a month, seizure meds another $30, and on and on. Whatayagonna do? Luckily I'm retired cause meds are twice a day, so far.

A G19 is one of those utilitarian handguns that I think everyone should own.

While I agree that my Glock 19 is a very versatile firearm, I’m not qualified to speak on behalf of everybody. I know a few LEOs who carry Glocks who are proficient with them, but who are not otherwise into guns. They feel that their relationship with their dept. issued duty pistol is like the relationship a carpenter has with their nail gun or hammer.

I know where you're coming from with your four legged companions. As long as their quality of life doesn't go so far downhill that it causes them great pain and suffering then I would also do what your doing and sell off certain guns that I didn't need anymore to finance future treatments and medications.

Some guns I can replace or just do without; can't do the same thing with my dog.

bannockburn,

Good lookin dog with a stuffed Santa pal. Daisy put on a couple pounds because of seizure meds.. Heart meds have made her more active. I was going to start paring down on guns anyway. I don't have anything really special anymore. My son is my only heir and doesn't need anymore guns. Selling a couple duplicate guns will help pad my emergency fund.
