Not 100% sure where to ask this but I have been looking at this product

https://mantisx.com/

To be honest I don't get in as much range practice as I would like. I know I can dry fire practice but I was thinking it might make my dry & live fire practice more productive. Has anyone here used this. Is it a good product. Did it help increase your skill level?

Be sure it will mount on your weapon of choice.

Since you mentioned it...is it that big of a deal? My trainer has some of the original Mantis devices she's trying to clear out. $100 does dry and live fire. It's the one with the screw that attaches to your rail. (The newer, MantisX that is $100, does not do live fire, and clips onto the rail-so easy on/off the gun.) The older one is larger than the newer models. Would this fit on a single stack 9? (If I'm not drawing from a holster, does it even matter about the size?)

What gun?
Dryfire makes a "magazine" with a clicker that simulates repeat shots without racking the slide. Now available with Mantis X built in.
Glock and Plastic Smith only, XD in the works.
I don't see how it could be made to work with a hammer gun.

Yeah I don't see any need for one of those magazines. I'm under the impression that the Mantis systems work on gyroscopes and the falling firing pin or striker. As I understand it, I should be able to put a Mantis under my gun and just shoot DA (external hammer-fired DA/SA gun) ad it should work the same as a striker fired gun. I don't really understand what those magazines really do.

I have had a MantisX for a couple of years. Mine mounts on a rail and does dry or live fire. I like it. I often use it in conjunction with LaserLyte target (with laser cartridges) when I can't get outside.
As previously mentioned, it will show you things about your trigger pull & follow-through that might be hard to detect otherwise.
I think it's worth having.
