How do you pack your reloads?

Afraid I have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) when it comes to organizing and reloading. Been experimenting with various ways to store reloads to minimize space and keep the inventory.

The military ammo boxes are great for loose bulk rounds and about the right size and stack well. Kinda wanted to take it to the next level of being organized. Plastic boxes are nice, but can add up when doing large quantities. Recently been using inexpensive cardboard packaging for pistol and shotgun rounds.

What's your preference for packaging ammo?

For pistol ammo like 9 mm 40 and 45 I like to put them in the Square dishwasher tablet containers. And 9 mm just one container will easily hold over 500 to 600 rounds and they stack really really well. If you're super worried about keeping your brass nice you could put a Ziploc bag inside of one of the tablet containers to keep it super airtight. The next level up from that is using the square 5 gallon buckets I reload a lot but not that much.

I have a bunch of the Berry's too. I also reuse factory boxes. I have a 20mm ammo can full of 40S&W reloads in those old yellow UMC 250rd packs.

At least one .30 cal size MTM ammo box per cartridge. Mostly 100 rd. cal. boxes. But I also reuse a bunch of commercial ammo boxes.
Every box gets a label with load data and if possible, data source reference.

I use folgers cans with masking tape to label them. Not the most space efficient but it works for me.

Occasionally use the cardboard and Styrofoam, but prefer and use plastic most often. The ones that hinge open all the way, or have tops that are completely removable.

I used to do the MTM boxes, but when the volume went up I switched to Gatorade quart bottles. Then the volume went up again, so I’m now doing plastic coffee containers, they hold about 500 rounds of 9mm. Maxwell or Folgers, either one!

At any given time, I can have some of this, a little of the other, a boatload of something else,,,
No rhyme or reason, and 'one size does not fit all'

I have / use several of the obligatory 50 and 30 cal. cans. Couple dozen 100-round MTM cases, and some odd-ball stuff.

Lately, been getting a kick out of 'repurposed' clear plastic containers that let me see the fruits of my labor,,,
I ain't picky,,, Jiff peanut butter, old grapefruit containers, 'jumbo' sized Milk Bone marrow treat containers,, (with marks at every 200 rounds.)

Although not clear plastic, some of those empty 'bucket o bullets' containers have followed me home from the Range,,,

When transporting pistol loads to Dad, (1000 miles one way) I like repurposed store-bought ammo boxes. (250 round boxes with styro-trays are nice)

As always, YMMV

50rd plastic boxes for most pistol and some rifle ammos, 100rd MTM boxes for the big boomers (.348, and .45-70). For bulk 9mm, .45, 5.56mm and 7.62 in bulk cardboard boxes I get from work (all the same size, I can’t handle different size boxes.)

I've got the same OCD.
All handgun rounds go in 50 rd plastic boxes
Clear = 38 Spl, 44 Mag, 327 Fed Mag & 7.62x54R
See Thru Green = 38 Spl
Red & Dk Grey = 380, 357 Mag & 45 Colt
Blue 22 LR, 45 ACP & 44 Spl
Red = 41 Mag & 223
Rust = 25 Acp
Solid Green = 7.62x25

I use my empty Hodgedon 1# cans for 9mm and either slap a label on or sharpie on the existing label. Most of the rest of the ammo I shoot is relatively limited quantity or match grade, so I'm stuck with plastic ammo boxes for those. When my bullets show up for my bulk .223 ammo, the USGI ammo can currently containing my brass will be pressed into service for that.

Many ways.

I keep most of mine as reloading supplies and only keep a hundred or so reloaded for each caliber. 223 gets about 500.
This makes storage easier. I get that others compete and need more readily available.
