I picked up a 20 gauge 1100 Skeet in a package deal that is surplus to my needs. I have settled on a Fox sterlingworth for all of my shotgun needs except magnum applications. For that I have my S&W 916T pump gun. I need to move this gun fairly quickly locally. It comes with a second full choke barrel beautiful walnut stock and the gun is in pristine shape. It is from 1981/82. What would be a good asking price for a Local face to face transaction?

No box or paper work. The skeet gun is a fixed choke model.

A local gun store has a few 1100 models priced from $350-$500. They all appear a bit on the older side and have sat there for a few months. If you want a sale immediately, $250 or $300 would probably bring someone out of the woodwork mo ricky tick. If you're not in that much of a hurry, throw another 100-150 on that.

One of those did NOT sell, and the other one was a somewhat rare and desirable to some "standard frame" 20 gauge (built on the 12 gauge size receiver.)
Condition is everything. Excellent should net $500 for an LT20 Skeet.

i sold a 20 ga on the larger frame that had a imp cyl vent rib barrel on it in 90 %, that i had threaded for removable chokes tubes for 600.oo. with the extra barrel i think it is worth at least 600.oo, but for a quick sale lower.

Full size Skeet Grade in 20ga in decent condition should bring $500 plus the extra barrel, $400 should move it very fast around here. The LT20 is a bit rarer and a bit more desirable I think.

I missed the part about the extra barrel in your OP.
Personally, I'd go 500 for a used one in that configuration with an extra barrel. Especially because it's a 20.

It seems like with 1100s, you just gotta have the right buyer locally. Seems like demand is very hit or miss regionally.

Thanks all for the input. I believe it to be a 20 ga. On a 12 frame. It is not the LT. I thought it was retailed as a skeet package and came with an extra barrel. But I can't find any documentation of that. One of those things you think you know. Know what i mean?

I'm going to try to sell it locally at the club I am a part of. I'll put it at $600 OBO.

The story is that I don't need it. I am very happy with my Sterlingworth. I bought it as an afterthought when I was offered a Steyr 1952 in 270 for $400. The guy brought the 1100 along with and offered both for $1000. Thinking that the 1100 had more value i bought the two. If i only sell it for $350 then the price i paid for the Steyr goes from $400 to $650. Still a steal. Both are in immaculate condition.

The LGS has exactly what I want. A Savage 2400 made by Valmet. 12 gauge over 222 Rem. But that LGS is valuing the 1100 as run of the mill 1100 and the extra barrel and no Rem Chokes as a negative. He knows and tells me what he will price it at and I believe him. I've done a lot of business with him and he knows what price to sell at to move it quickly. It will sell the first day on his rack.

I thought the 20 on the 12 gauge frame was actually desirable for the serious skeet shooter. If not then it is just another 1100 in 20 gauge without Rem Chokes and he is probably right.

You might make a few extra baubles by putting the extra barrel on eBay, a regional gun forum, or here, as opposed to trying to package it up.

My only concern about selling online, here or on Gunbroker, is that I dont have a "selling" presence in either media. My post count here, meager, but high enough it might convince someone that I didn't just join to sell a scam product, but that doesn't mean I can be trusted either. I just dont think a Gunbroker user without any prior sales has the ability to sell even moderately priced items.

I wouldn't mind selling here. I just dont think it will work well for me. Maybe I'm wrong.

Right before the Coronovirus I bought a moderately used 1187 premium, blued/walnut 12ga. from I don't know when. Wood could use refinishing, but it doesn't demand it, and very small amounts of rust. I paid $300, and both parties were happy. I have shot it twice, and really like it. It makes my 870 feel like an elephant gun.

I have not kept up with a different autoloaders from Remington. Seems they are selling the Versa series for a lot less. I think they come in a synthetic stock. Not really my style. But they may be just as good as anything else.

I actually took my lessons with the instructors 1100 12 gauge skeet model. For some reason that is the only modern stock configuration that I can shoot well. I am real comfortable with my fox sterlingworth in 12 gauge though and it has some class to it.

Virginian, although you are correct that one of the examples I mentioned didn't sell, it did receive 12 or so bids and brought it up to $875. I always assumed that to be as good as a sold for determining value. At least I know that several people thought it was worth that or close to that. Unless there's a suspicion of shill bidding, I always figured real bids were as good as sold prices. Do you have a reason not to use them that I am not thinking of?

The 1100 is like the Wingmaster of Remington's line, especially ones like these made for skeet. The key is to find a skeet shooter, so either your local trap/skeet club or shotgunworld or similar would give you the widest audience

It actually is, the extra weight and the same feel as a 12 gauge was the thing to have in the early 1980's. If you were local to me, I would offer you $450 for the gun and extra barrel right now, but I don't buy guns online from out of state. There is someone out there that would give the $500-$600 that you want for it.

Thanks Kudu. I'm a little leery of buying without actually touching it too. I've done it and came out ok. Almost all of my gunbroker purchases are from my dealer and I can inspect them before bidding.
