When you realize the knife you're carrying is bigger than the gun ... (no Cold Steel haters, please, but I'm a sucker for tanto blades, and the CS Recon 1 is S35VN with a robust, super-sharp blade and nice bluing).

Awesome knife Old Dog!

I love tantos as well. 95% of the last 20 + knives I got were tantos.

You guys do know that you've got me visiting the Wilson Combat website now, looking at the EDC 9 pistols ... I'll tell the wife it's all y'all's fault.

It fits the hands so well and the trigger.... ahh, what can I say. When you rack the slide it’s like sliding two ice blocks with a little water in between...so smooooth!

You will not regret. After all it’s only money.

Mines been on at my side (literally, as CCW) since I got it, the rest of the 9mms in my safe have been put on notice, they are all for sale. Several got the hint and left.

Here is another Gerber Mark II with the H&K USP Tactical 45. This one is in an amazing sheath made by Peloza Leather. At one point in time I had about fifty Gerber Mark II's.

Also, here is a Gerber Mark I picture. Although the Mark II started production in 1966, the Mark I did not come into production until 1976 and was designed by Al Mar. That first year the Mark I had a Green Armorhide Handle and a green leather sheath, and the blade profile was a bit thinner than later models. The lower knife in the picture below is a 1976. By 1977 the handle and leather sheath had been changed to black. The production years by serial number for the Mark I were not well documented as they were for the Mark II. The upper knife in this picture is probably from the early to mid 1980's. The color difference between the two is hard to tell in this picture because the green one is a very dark olive green, and my photography is not good. It is easy to tell when you see them in person. I have also had quite a few of these Mark I's as well as most other Gerbers.

My Gerber Mk.I has the gray handle and tan sheath but mine was marked with a $37.50 price!

That looks like a very early Mark I along with the Guardian which came about during the 1980's. They also made a Guardian I about the size of the Mark I, but with a thinner blade and a Guardian II which was about the size of the Mark II. The Guardians all had a similar design Handle, some with black blades , and some with camo handles. They even came in 3 knife boxed sets; some with additional concealment shoulder holsters. They were designed by Bob Loveless.

Thanks for the info; didn't know my Mk.I was an early production model. I knew the Guardian was because I happened to be at a knife shop and the owner told me it was a brand new design and he just got it in! I also got the accessory straps and sheath that you could carry it as a shoulder harness set-up.

Haha! Ive had that same little Pakistani boot knife since I was kid. It once spent an entire winter lost under snow in the back yard, but the mower found it in the spring.......

I have one of those !
Broke the blade opening a paint can. :fire: (I know, knives at not pry bars ) Replaced the blade with a blade from a 1095 paring knife and it lives in wife's kitchen junk drawer for braking down cardboard boxes.

I still have some of the accessory sets for the Guardian and the Mark I / Command I, if you are interested.
