The greatest switchblade maker of several generations has passed leaving a legacy we're all enjoying.

Butch's legacy includes a son, Rainey, that is one of the best switchblade makers of all time and grandson's Kyle and Cory and Brando who are great talents in the field as well.

Butch worked with Bill Harsey to design the Applegate Folder for Col. Rex Applegate and Gerber, the double action auto mechanism, various manufacturer's knives for Gerber, Timberline, Spyderc0...

RIP Mr. Vallotton.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Vallotton at the Atlanta Blade Show. I also had the pleasure of buying one of his Spyderco collaboration knives from him with the bolster insert opener.
 
His work was exquisite , some very flamboyant, all gorgeous. I am friends with his ex or face book , she lives in Oregon or at least did. She is fun and patriotic and we
