I bought this gun new the 24 December 2019. Since then it has been the only gun I shot at the range. I love it: soft shooter and scary accurate. Grip is perfect. Full ambi controls. The trigger is totally different from the other striker fired pistol: it is a smooth light pull with no real wall which is good both for beginners and experienced shooters. Reset is not the shortest of the market but I don't care.
Great review here:

Now the pics:

congratulations on a very nice pistol.

It looks like the rear sight is fixed. Did it come sighted in decently or did you have to play with it?

I have been hoping to see more of these in the US.

Thanks. J

Looks like a incredible pistol. Reminds me of the Masada, best feel semi-auto I've ever felt.
The grip is perfect for my hands. It feels so natural. I ordered this gun from the importer without ever tried one and when I gripped it I was shocked. It feels even better than a CZ 75. Yeah, the CZ is probably the closest feeling to the Grand Power.

Mine has only one backstrap because I went cheap but there are three more available. No need to try another backstrap in my case.

Congratulations!

And also, you are very naughty.

I'm starting to SERIOUSLY want one of those!
Thanks!
It's an outstanding pistol. The new one with the improved trigger should be even better.
There are so many nice Grand Power models to choose: Q1, Q1S, K100, P1, P11, X-Trim, X-Calibur. I would love to add an X-Calibur in my collection.

Does that have the rotating barrel like the old Beretta Cougar and the newer PX4? I seem to remember hearing the Grand Powers use that type of lockup, looks like a nice pistol!

The pistol is perfect sighted in from the factory. It perfectly shoots POA with NATO specs 124gr using center mass aka cutting the bullseye hold.
Anyway the rear sight is adjustable for windage because it has a screw (key is included) and two more front sights are also included in the case, -1 and +1 (the one that comes from the factory is 0). Rear sight is a machined(!) piece of steel; front sight is polymer and I'm pretty sure it has the same cut of CZ 75 front sights.

Yes, it has a rotating barrel lockup system.
However the mechanical connection between the barrel and the slide which drags the barrel backwards and the mechanical connection between the barrel and the frame which forces the barrel to rotate until it is released from the slide, is totally different.

Thanks for the info and the pictures.

You should know my wife is now annoyed at you because I want one!! (Ha Ha...kidding)

later,j

This is a group of 10 shots at 10 yards shooting at a white paper without any reference. The verticalization of the group is due to my mistakes probably losing the focusing between the sights and the target. In any case the pistol strikes straight as a sword. When I don't make mistakes is easy to see the shots inside each other with this pistol.

I have a K100, it is a much better gun than the PX4, at least from my experience. The K100 is accurate and reliable, the PX4 was not. Great trigger and hand feel.

I forgot to mention that the fit and finish is excellent. Barrel to slide fit and slide to frame fit is tight and when I say tight I mean TIGHT. There are virtually no plays between the parts.
The slide finish is the real tenifer.
Grand Power declares on its website the materials and the surface hardness of the most important components.

The "real" frame is an hardened piece of machined steel. The polymer frame can be considered just a support.

In this pic I show how much the slide goes backwards with the breech face of the slide still in contact with the breech face of the chamber. Pretty impressive. I think this is the cause the soft recoil.

Hold open and take down part (this part works also as a recoil buffer).

Is it any easier to take apart for cleaning than the old ones? I don't recognize that take down part on my K100.
No, I don't think it's easier because it requires three fingers (one to hold the trigger guard and two to pull down the take down piece on both sides, just like a Glock) and the other hand to pull back and up the slide. In order to do that, I have also to use my chest or an orizontal surface against the bottom surface of the grips. There are many videos to show that. In theory is not required to pull down the take down piece during riassembly but in the case of my Q100 is necessary probably because, as I mentioned before, is very tight. Anyway once the gun is disassembled you have to deal only with three parts, slide, frame and barrel, because the recoil spring is captive, so is the guide rod in Grand Power pistols.
The older K100 (MK.7 or older) are alot easier to take down.
However Grand Power decided to modify the frame to have a stronger design and this feature was released with the MK.12 models.

What is that big honkin' "rivet-like" thing on either side of the frame where a proper thumb safety would be located?

It's a plug that just closes the hole for the safety because the striker fired Q100 and the DA/SA hammer fired K100 shares the same frame.
The striker fired Q100 is also available with the thumb safety so I think mine can be converted to a thumb safety Q100 by just removing the plugs and installing the safety levers. And viceversa.

Thanks for the very informative report (and for lots of photos too)! Looks to be a very well thought out and ergonomic design along with some great build quality! Would like to see a version with an adjustable rear sight to take advantage of it's accuracy potential.
