decapped new primers

I primed ten cases of 30-30 then finished five of them. Came down a few days later and forgot I primed the remaining five, so I decapped them. Question: can I use the decapped. primers, or does the decapping deform them so they won't fit securely. I hate to waste primers these days.

You know the economy is bad when we are worried about salvaging 5 primers. Personally, I'd try them.

So long you don't think you bent the anvil in the primer, then you're probably safe to reuse.
I wouldn't use them in a critical scenario (hunting) but would in a range round where a click [no bang] doesn't keep your freezer empty.

I probably wouldn't load your match ammo for Camp Perry with them, but all the recycled primers I've used worked without issue.

I've deprimed live primers on different occasions through the years, and then reused them. They all worked.

Carefully deprimed and rescued a handful over the past few months. Reloaded practice ammo and all went bang. Somehow a few 380 cases found their way into the 9mm stash and got primed.

I decap live primers all the time and one never went boom. I know, before I hear the "DONT DO THAT", I've done it MANY times and reuse the primers and never had a misfire. Hope that helps
