I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and build a shooting bench. I generally followed these plans:

https://howtospecialist.com/workshop/free-shooting-bench-plans/

Other than the fact that it weighs a ton (which I know is good for shooting - not so good for moving it into place), I’m pretty happy with the results. I used pressure-treated 2”x6” for the framing and Trex decking for the top. (It’s my “go to” material for exterior projects!). I used 2 1/2” GRK fasteners — so it’s solid.

Now to finish the backstop so I can use it!!

Looks great and you got to love how solid and substantial it is! First rate job sir!

I just did some math...I used 6 pieces of 2x6x8 ft pressure treated lumber and a little over 3 pieces of 8 ft Trex decking. So that works out to be a little over 200 lbs. once I’m sitting on it, there’s no what that thing is moving!! :D

Awesome looking bench my dude!!!!

Nice Job. When will the kits be available?

Ha! I did assign each part a letter and labeled them for easier assembly. I pretty much followed the plans (although I dorked up the angle brace and I provided a bit).

Very solid. My dad and I put concert under ours for even more weight. Used a front end loader to flip it upright. YourS is way nicer. Ours weighs more. Excellent work.

This makes me want to spend more time with my dad and learn all the real life skill I don't have hah

If our home was outside the city, I would have a range of my own and a shooting bench like that sitting on a cement pad so I could also use a shooters mat for prone shooting.
Very nice shooting bench my friend, awesome job.
