This is sort of a continuation of my recent post looking for recommendations on 7.92x57 ammunition.

I followed the forums advice and bought up some ppu match, SP and standard blue box fmj rounds.

Now with that being said, a few days ago I was searching ammoseek and stumbled on fedarms "remanufactured" steel case 7.92 ammo. I have concerns about the old steel cases being corroded from the inside.... I can not believe that the Russians checked every case prior to reloading them.

Does anyone have any experience with their steel case or brass case "remanufactured/salvaged" ammunition.

It sure is cheap around 30 CPR. However, perhaps dangerous? They claim full customer satisfaction is promised and that they are made specifically for fedarm. The very few YouTube reviews of this stuff look promising.

As always, thanks I'm advance for anyone's input.

I haven’t shot any, but what’s stopped me from buying any is, if it’s surplus ammo, that’s more or less a known quantity. If it’s new ammo, that’s more or less a known quantity. But this stuff is claimed to be surplus that’s been reloaded or otherwise reprocessed. But it’s being sold at a price that’s more or less what one would expect to pay for regular old surplus. So if this is remanufactured, it’s got to be a darn cheap job of it, to put labor in and still sell it so cheap. Can I trust that it’s really noncorrosive? Can I trust that it’s charged in a way that it won’t blow up my gun or cause a squib load? If bullets have been pulled on each case, and reused, accuracy potential may be pretty bad. If the ammo was too far-gone to sell outright as surplus, can I trust that the cases are all safe to shoot? Too many uncertainties to save a little bit of money.

Maybe it’s fantastic ammo, though. I’m just speculating.

From the sound of this, you'd be way ahead to get the data and all the stuff to reload the 8mmMauser. Then it's all known quantity and you can shoot with confidence. This "remanufactured" steel case... don't sound good to me at all.

I wouldn't touch it with a 25 foot pole for 30 cents a round.

From their website:
"This 7.92x57IS (8MM Mauser) steel cased ammunition has been made from excess military stock, using steel casings wiith polymer or lacquer coating to ensure proper functionality. These can be received from multiple LOT’s, and can come with copper versions of the bi-metal jacketed bullets, while some have crupo-nickel bimetal jacketed bullets."

"Weight sorted projectiles with precision dropped powder results in a round with near match grade accuracy."

"Primers have been replaced with new production berdan primers, while in our testing they tested as non-corrosive, we recommend that you still treat the ammo as corrosive."

I'm pretty sure this ammo is 70's to 80's Yugoslavian, not Russian. I bought a couple boxes of the original unremanufactured stuff from Century about 20 years ago to try out. It wasn't BAD ammo, but it wasn't great either.
It was cheap at less than 10 cents a round, but I never ordered any more.

Accuracy was better than 1950's Yugo, but it's the only ammo that ever gave me "sticky bolt" in my M48. Cycling the action was almost like a dirty Mosin shooting hot Czech LPS.
I never had the bolt stick with WWII German or 70's Romanian steel cased stuff.
