When they take over the town, they know to grab the 4473 forms to id gun owners. I know it’s a movie but it has me thinking that that is exactly what could happen in the event of foreign occupation or government confiscation.

Bah, the Peoples Liberation Army intelligence services and NSA already has a comprehensive list of all gun owners thanks to always-on cellphone microphones and internet data collection algorithms.

The really smart folks bent on world domination arent concerned about your AR15. By the time their economic, socio-political, and reeducation warfare programs mature, your kids or grandkids will gladly hand them over for a few additional food pellets or social credit score points.

It’s my all time favorite movie I watch it every time it’s on. I think it’s provides a look into what and how it could happen.

wow, that sounds like paranoid crazy. We know its not, the NSA acknowledged it, even before Snowden, the NSA had to justify its funding, and anyone watching knew what they were building. As for the Chinese, even aside from cellphones, I'm sure they got into the ATF files, remember those surveillance chips the government bought? But the US can't be practically invaded.... now, a real worry is a Warren/Bob O'Roark type administration using those files for "registration", door to door searches.

This is probably the most likely scenario. Our own government turning on us and making us law abiding citizens the enemy of the state.

The new version was truncated and edited at the last minute to avoid displeasing the CCP since they have de-facto control over all US produced movie content. Originally it was supposed to be Chinese, not North Korean invaders.

Look no further than that "Midway" remake they released last year which devotes several minutes to shameless China pandering.

The really funny thing is, they could have left the Chinese invaders in the film and made it more realistic by portraying half the Americans as gratefully welcoming their Communist liberators\ overlords.

Wait, what? If a foreign government takes over, you are worried that they might discover you have guns based on the 4473? If that is how the foreign invaders discover you have guns, then you probably didn't need them in the first place.

Unfortunately free speech is the other amendment under attack and it’s from a foreign government (not Russia you silly liberals:neener: ). China is controlling way too many of our rights, like Bloomberg, who is attacking 2A. Also the NBA owners bending to China. And a world wide shut down due to China intentionally letting the virus out. Luckily our media and big tech will NEVER cover these facts up!:uhoh:

I have been hunting in the woods with my dad since I was 5. He is a Vietnam vet and had the unfortunate duty to be a tunnel rat. He has taught me to stalk, and conceal my tracks. Ideally they wouldn’t know I was there until the pink mist was released from their bodies

What better way to conquer a country, make them sick poor and at each other’s throats. They come in with a truck load of money(stimulus checks) buy everyone’s favor and now they own us for the foreseeable future. With out firing a single shot

Maybe they wont find you, but they will find your family and friends (assuming you have any) and "convince" them that its best for everyone if you turn yourself in for reeducation.

This is why we cant trust ANY Chinese, Russian, or other foriegn nationals with research or sensitive positions in our government, industry, or universities. They may not want to spy for the Motherland, but they wont have much of a choice when their families back home are being threatened.

I wonder who in Hell thought that North Korea is even remotely capable of invading the US in the first place? Getting invaded by the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc made complete sense when the first movie was made in the early 80's. After the Cold War was ongoing at the time.

North Korea far more likely to invade South Korea anyway.

I wouldn't call it "good", but it was certainly fun for a campy paranoid fantasy. One of my favorites in that way. Far, far better is the 1960's version of Manchurian Candidate. To keep this gun related, the references to form 4473 do hit what would happen in 1984, BI (Before Internet).

Get a grip people. It is a movie or now 2 movies. I saw the original. It was a fantasy movie in which the good guys win. In reality no nation or groups of nations could ever successfully set up a base of invasion operations in the USA every nation knows that. It take millions of troops to set up operational zones on out three coastlines. That size forces would have to come by sea. That many ships would be picked up by intelligence operatives before they left ports. Satellites would track their movements. Then the Navy and Air Force would destroy them..an no one base the ability to do it by massive air assault. If someone did they ocean floor bed would be littered with planes and bodies. As for the Government taking away our guns, I am not worried about that. The Government can do stupid things, but it is not that stupid. The rapidly expanding number of gun owners is telling the Government one thing: Don’t on the owners.

I doubt any invader will even bother looking at Forms at some store instead of simply looking through every home in town anyway.

Purely fictional. Looking at local gunshop's 4473's would tell someone almost nothing. I'd guestimate that 1/2 or more of the guns in circulation couldn't be tied to a 4473 anyway due to private and FTF sales. And a large number would have been purchased at gunshops in other places. In the real world even the FBI is unable to figure out who guns belong to buy using 4473's in a great many cases. And when they do it often takes weeks worth of investigating. It doesn't work the way they show it on TV and in Hollywood

Anything is possible. Most people members of firearm forums probably have multiple guns. It’d be much easier to just hack that info rather than visit 10,000 gun shops.
I think on the movie they were going town to town, using the local politicians and police to find the known problem causers, and their own resources. On a single city occupation model it is a very good method.

Did you have to say that, now I have to sell the gun I bought with the stimulus check and give the money back...:cuss:
