For the last few months I have been trying very hard to cut back on my gun collection. I have even traded a few and sold a few. But I just couldn’t help myself today.
Went by to see a friend today. While we were shooting the bull he mentioned that he had an Enfield that he wanted to sale. He pulled a Long Branch No4 Mk1* out of his safe. It was in great shape. I asked how much he wanted and he said make an offer. I said $200 with a serous look on my face, and then we both broke out laughing.
We talked about maybe making a tread. I offered a Ruger New Model Blackhawk in 357 Magnum, which he thought about but declined. But he offered to sell the Enfield at a very reasonable price and I couldn’t help but write a check.
So here’s the newest addition to my collection.

It’s SN# matching.

It has the Mk III rear sight.

That is a pretty rifle, Gunny.

Is it time for an intervention?
In my defense, I should say, I gave two Mausers away last year. A K98 and a VZ24. I sold one of my Yugo M48s the other day and have a Swiss K31 on consignment at a local shop. I did a post yesterday on the cleanup of a VZ24. It will be going on consignment at the same shop this week.

I also traded two of my Carcano carbines for a wire wrapped Enfield, which should arrive soon.
But pay on attention to the post I have made in the last few weeks about the handguns I’ve bought.

Congrats on a nice score; and it looks awful familiar. Except mine's a 1945 model from the same Long Branch Arsenal, which was right outside of Toronto but isn't there anymore. Even has the same Mark III rear sight & matching numbers right down to the magazine like yours. They're great shooters and that aperture sight is a big improvement over the rear sight on the # 1, Mk III Lee-Enfield..... Specially for older guys, LOL.

She is a beauty! I've been try to do the same as you, but it seems that a great deal pops up and the collection grows instead of getting cut back.

Yup, that's two nice ones this thread... rather have one of them than that spacegun the Canadians get now.

I didn’t know that Canadians were allowed to play with real guns, anymore. ;)

Not if they keep re-electing Trudy. Nah, I was just picking on how they modernized that one for the North Canadian Rangers. I hope it's something they actually like... just that I like these Enfields better. Several years back, I was hunting a Longbranch... the prices suddenly went through the roof. Hardly ever even see one in my part of the country.

DOWNSIZING --something my son will have to deal with:)
that is a beautiful No4 !
My three kids like gun, but near as much as I do. They have each picked out guns that they want, but that leaves me with around 200 left over.
I could make a lot of money selling of my surplus collection. I made just over a $200 profit on the M48 I sold the other day. But making a profit was never on my mind when I started collecting.
I’m lucky that the only bill I have right now is my house, which is pretty low and will be paid off in three months.
I do have an upcoming project on the house in about a week from now. Going to gut the hall and living room. The hall will be redone with new sheet rock and the living room with knotted pine, tongue and grove boards, and new floors in each. The good thing is, I already have the money set aside and don’t have to sell any guns.
As much as I would like to downsize to make more room, I really don’t see it happening because, I really like buying guns. Hell, I’ve already bought two handguns this month and thinking about another.:)

NICE! Your place probably makes the WWII museum's English weaponry collection look pale in comparison .

I want to sell off two Taurus rimfire handguns and use the money to offset some of the cost of a Smith Model 63 kit gun to replace them, but all of the local consignment-friendly gun stores have been Covid-closed so I haven't had a chance to go in and drop them off.

I wish I could stumble upon nice specimens within a reasonable price range like that one, you done good. :)

Stay safe.
