Today a friend and I got together for the first time in 8 months and did a little shooting. We brought a small arsenal with us today; 3 ar-15s, a 1903 Springfield, a ruger precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor, 2 1911s, my wife's glock 19, a khar CW9, sig p365, .22 or conversion kit for an ar-15 and a PILE of ammo. one of the other customers had his M1 Garand. Needless to say we let loose a Memorial Day ring of freedom. May the fallen be remembered for all they did, on all sides of all conflicts. Many died fighting for what the believed in and many more died due to someone else sending them in to fight for THEIR beliefs.

Sounds like you had a good time, wish I didn't have one of those essential jobs, that way I could've been out shooting with friends and family.

You should post some pics, that way we could check out your firearms.

WAR IS A MERE CONTINUATION OF POLICY BY OTHER MEANS.
We see, therefore, that War is not merely a political act, but also a real political instrument, a continuation of political commerce, a carrying out of the same by other means.

This would actually be an interesting conversation to have. Because I don’t (necessarily) disagree with you. But there are many who would, vehemently. And I completely empathize and respect that as well. I don’t think the Mods would allow the discussion because of the emotions involved and how quickly it would likely get out of hand. Even if we tried to keep firearms involved. It sometimes takes a long time for soldiers to put aside their hatred and realize that their sworn enemies were just people who answered the call like they did. Some, on both sides, never do. And who has the right to cast stones at them? I certainly don’t. The man I loved and respected more than anyone in this world absolutely HATED the Japanese. And I promise, he had his reasons.....

War does thing to men. Terrible things. And it can turn them into people they would never become otherwise. I wish government leaders had to bear witness to that. Daily. And not on a TV screen. Because I have seen it. First hand. Many times. And “heartbreaking” is an understatement.

So, for ALL those that did their best and faithfully, honorably, and dutifully answered the call, may they all Rest In Peace.

And for those that sent young men to die just to further unnecessary political agendas and/or line their own pockets without care or concern for the sacrifices that would be made on both sides, well, I hope their rest is a little....hotter.
