Yes that Single Six was a bit of a reclamation job but credit really should go to the Flitz Polish, which did most of the work! Something like that which can clean, protect, and preserve the blued parts without harming or removing any of the finish is pretty remarkable stuff! Found the grips at a gun show and they were like new in their original packaging. Put them on and they were a perfect fit, like they were made for my gun, as was the .22 Magnum cylinder I picked up at another gun show.

Still lookin' good after all these years!

My favorite .22 rimfire handgun was not my own but a friends.
1990's Colt Cadet.

My favorite in my possesion 'rimfire mahosker'?
High Standard Sentinel MkIV
It came in a shoe box of gun parts.
This revolver fully disassembled in a plastic bread bag with a busted trigger guard (missing a couple key 'though small' firing group parts)
It took a few years to finally track down the unobtainium parts.
Got it assembled and she spits lead in the general direction that passes for a target.
She is rough looking from its hard life in Alaskas Arctic Northwest and comeing back from a box of parts.

My favorite is my 4" S&W 2206. I had a 6" 2206TGT back in the day and foolishly let it out of my possession. I had been longing to replace it when a friend (a true enabler) offered to me a 4" one he had just picked up for a song. I couldn't say "I'll take it" fast enough.

I must admit I have a fondness for this series from S&W. My trio.

Browning Buckmark 10 inch (9⅞" actual) with integral scope base rib and Leupold 2x LER scope. I made my best handgun shot ever with this pistol, a squirrel swaying on a branch offhand at about 60 yards. Could never duplicate it, but at least I pulled it off when I needed to. It will also shoot CCI Stingers into a 1" ten-shot group at 25 yards off sandbags. What a Stinger can do to a squirrel has to be seen to be believed!

I have had so many 22's that I don't even remember them all: dozens of High Standards, Rugers, S&W's, Brownings, Beretta's, Walther's and more. But when I downsized to move to Hawaii 3 years ago I only kept 2.

The only two I have are the best overall of the bunch for all around use IMO. First is the Ruger Mark above and second is the S&W 617 below.

It would be hard to choose which is my favorite out of what I have. I always liked my Ruger MkII and my old H&R 949 9 shot revolver. I kind of rediscovered my S&W 22A after putting a micro red dot/reflex sight on it. I also find myself grabbing the Glock G44 more often lately when I go fishing or hiking.

I forgot to even mention my Kel-Tec PMR30. I initially had feeding problems since all I had was 30 Gr CCI ammo. The pistol has been flawless now that I am using CCI Maxi Max 40Gr TMJ. And it goes well with my Kel-Tec CMR30, Nothing like 30 rounds of 22 magnum per magazine and the ability to swap magazines between pistol and rifle.

Current favorite is my Glock 44. I really like this gun, and mine has been flawless.

But I don’t have a revolver, and the others are Rugers, an SR 22 and a MK3 45-22. The 45-22 is definitely the most accurate, but the Glock is just fun to shoot!

I've owned several handguns and have kept the ones that I enjoy and admire the most. As I posted in the recent thread on the same topic, my favorite is the International Medalist in the top center of the photo below, followed by the other two Medalists. I can't believe I shot handguns for 40+ years before discovering the Belgium Browning rimfires.

I have only shot maybe two dozen different .22lr handguns so far.
But IMHO the very best far and wide is the Hämmerli 215.
Perfect weight.
Perfect balance.
Perfect trigger.
The grip that came with the gun was crap and not original. So I changed it to something worthy this gun.

I've posted this puppy a couple of times on this forum -- a S&W 63 kit gun (bottom) with 4" barrel, purchased used from a friend back in 1980, and (as I like to say) still as reliable and accurate as the day HE bought it. :)

Favorite #2 would be my Thompson/Center Contender with 14" Super Match .22LR barrel and -- at this time -- a KAK Shockwave 2 pistol brace... Maybe a bit of a stretch to call it a handgun, but technically it qualifies... :)

Browning buckmark....Ive had this gun the longest of any.
its beat up and ugly, but reliable and amazingly accurate with any barrel.

I have the 10" barrel that i just stuck rifle sights on, the 5.5 slab side, and a 2.5" round i cut down so it would fit down the pocket of my shorts.
Grips are Altamonts with the finger groves taken off.

This with the 10" barrel will shoot as well or better than most of the .22 rifles ive owned. Hitting bowling pins at 200ish yds with a red dot takes a good hold over guess and a steady hand, but isnt really that hard.
