So I have been considering upgrading the trigger on my S&W Shield 2.0 to the Apex Duty/Carry Acton Enhancement. I see there are two versions one with a flat face trigger and the other is curved. Currently the pistol has a curved trigger. I have never shot a pistol with a flat face trigger. Is there an advantage of one over the other? Is it just personal preference? Thanks in advance for the feedback/insight.

Personal preference. Some claim you can get a better feel or an easier time pressing straight to the rear. I don’t hate them but don’t prefer them.

I have the Apex Tactical FSS on my M&P9 with the curved trigger...but it was mostly to get rid of the hinged trigger. I have their straight trigger on my SIG 320.

I've found that the biggest difference is that the straight trigger allows more latitude in trigger finger placement on the face of the trigger. If you don't contact the trigger in the center, you still get the same trigger stroke movement

I have a gen 1 shield, the trigger was god awful it sat in my safe for a number of years because of the crappy trigger. Then a few months ago I got a hair under my butt and installed the Apex trigger in it. Made a HUGE difference. I went with the flat trigger.

Yep my Shield was reliable but basically unshootable with the stock trigger. The front sight would jerk when the striker released no matter how carefully or slowly I pressed the trigger. Apex's DCAEK+aluminum trigger sorted it nicely. I got the standard curved trigger.

Keep us informed, I've used their springs in my SD40VEs but have not tried their triggers, I have multiple S&Ws and have thought about doing the trigger upgrades.
