Here I go again starting another picture thread like this. I guess I enjoy not knowing what wheelgun to buy next.
Since I don't have any S&W revolvers yet this should help me decide what classic look I want.
Closest thing I've got to a Smith is a look-alike Taurus m66. Not quite the same as a model 19.

I have a few blued Smith & Wesson revolvers:

A 3” Model 13 wearing Hogue grips and a 2.5” Model 19, with Pachmayr compacs, both in .357 Magnum. I carried the Model 19 as an on-duty back-up gun and as an off-duty for several years in the early 1990’s.

My Great-Uncles M&P .38 Special wearing sterling silver grips with Mexican symbols in copper. This was his duty gun when he retired from Las Vegas PD in 1965.

And a couple of rimfires: 66B64460-CCA4-401E-85C3-5DC90DC125EC.jpeg

A Model 17 .22 LR at top and a Model 48 in .22 WMR at bottom. The Model 17 belonged to a female bullseye shooter who used it as her rimfire gun, the DA and SA trigger pulls are amazing for a rimfire revolver. The Model 48 is giving me some fits, it bound up the last time I took it shooting and started not wanting to fire. I’m sending it back to the mother ship in Springfield for a diagnosis and repair as soon as they're no longer Covid-closed.

Smiths offer a huge variety of models, sizes and calibers to choose from. I have more Smith revolvers than any other revolver brand, I find the older models to be awesome examples of the old-school gunmakers craft and I’m sure you’ll get hooked like a trout once you start nibbling on them.

Stay safe.

If I knew how to post pictures on this forum I would be glad to share my blue steel S&Ws with you. I seem to be smart enough to reload and visit forums such as this but not smart enough to post pictures. Oh well...

Model 10-5 found it rough and made it into something I’ve always want to own. It’s a lot of fun out to 4 yds. But even more fun just at 2 yds.

That’s cool!

I bought an old Victory Model .38 Special off GB that someone had done something similar to. The Parkerizing was polished off and it was reblued, the only real difference from yours was the one I bought had the half-moon front sight reattached onto the chopped 1 3/4” barrel. It was a good looking conversion and I intended to remove the front of the trigger guard like a “Fitz Special”, however...

The online seller neglected to inform the bidders (like me!) that it was made using a hogged out .38 S&W cylinder... I didn’t notice that until I fired six rounds that split the cases and got stuck :cuss:.

I was so pissed I bought a used .38 Special cylinder for cheap off eBay, had a S&W armorer friend fit and time it and I consigned it at a LGS for almost enough to cover my costs.

Yours looks much more functional! :)

Stay safe.
