I don't have a borescope, and know little about them, but know they show bore condition if you know what you are looking at.

That said, does anyone use a scope to check inside rifle cases for visual indication of head separation?

I have, works as you would imagine. Didn't find any cases with any issues so I couldn't say just how clearly you could see it but I have no doubts it would be obvious. Now looking back at it I wonder how much better a view I would have had if I removed the mirror from the end..

I have looked in cases w/Lyman but I went back to the bent paper clip. you can feel the crease developing which is precursor of case failure. Never thought of removing mirror, that might help, but with mirror you're viewing a very black surface at right angles so crease is hard to see. I think you may be onto something as the crease would be more visible straight away.

Have used mine to look under and behind furniture, etc. after dropping something before, however.

Regards,
hps

How'd you make a hole for the borescope in the first place? <gigglesnort>

I'm not signing this one so nobody will know who posted it.

I took off the cover of an electrical outlet and fished the bore scope along side the electrical box.

That Teslong (sp.) on Amazon is calling...

So totally worth it!:)

I have seen:
My cases are trimmed just right to the chamber.
A Savage barrel is an accurate, yet boardwalk looking bore.
Remington 40X bore paste really does not scratch or wear the bore. All the same scratches and gouges and tool marks were still there, just clean of copper.
The Voodoo barrel on my AR is fire checked but the rifling is superb and smooth. I wish I hadn’t abused it so much.
The chamber of my Ruger 22/45 is slightly off center.
All of my rimfire barrels are nearly perfect works of clean art.
Smooth and precise rifling, clean and clear bore and chambers. I attribute this to waxed lead and polymer coated bullets. The Armscor are guilded , but coated in a sticky wax, and they burn so clean. A gem in the rough.

Super-fun gadget! Sixty dollars, no regrets.:)
