Concealed Carry with Bib Overalls

Was wondering if it would make sense to have a pocket holster that fits the J-frame/Charter Undercover sewn into the back of the bib. Was thinking the DeSantis Nemesis. Biggest drawback is only one hand has access.

I'll probably have a local tailor do it. I'm no good with needle & thread.

Thinking about this some more, I'd have to contact the holster manufacturer to see if the holster would stand up to the wash and dry cycles the overalls would likely go through.

Sewing a pocket holster into the back side of the bib could make the gun quite handy, but I've got to be sure the gun doesn't fly out when I'm trying to start a chainsaw.

I used to wear bibs and no shirt back when I was in my 20's. (much better shape back then)
I carried a Model 36 J-frame in the top pocket. You could barely see the tip of the butt sticking out. Most people thought it was a pipe.

I think it would be difficult to conceal the required double barrel shotgun when wearing bibs.

I wear bibs all the time, except for in the heat of summer. Have given a lot of thought to sewing a pocket in the front of the bib, just above the pocket. Printing could be a problem. But I am a big man. And I wear Roundhouse. A Kahr CW9 in a holster fits in my front pocket. So does a new Colt Cobra, 2, 6 shot 38 spl. So my solution for you is to gain a bunch of weight. The larger the size, the bigger the pocket.

Be interesting if you could install snaps, take it off for cleaning.

I don't really wear overalls but I have a friend who does. He told me he wears a belt underneath with a Crossbreed IWB holster. Carries a SR9 or SR9c if I recall correctly.

This thread made me think about one of my Great Uncles on my Mothers side. I remember him telling me his mother sewed a pocket in the front of his overalls so he could carry a derringer when he went to school. It seem the older boys were mean or so he said.

How about sewing/adding a deep enough pocket inside the chest of the overalls that you can reach into, using matching thread? You can line it with a rubberized or some sort of waterproof material to keep your sweat off it.

Might be workable with a light gun. Or it might be annoying, but not a tremendous effort to find out. If it doesn't work for you at least you've got a deep pocket for your phone if the overalls don't already have one.

This what going to be my suggestion as well.

There are major problems with sewing in non-denim materials. Leather will rapidly disintegrate with the repeated washing. A rubber-like material contracts at a different rate, leading to printing. I will recommend making a denim pocket that is sized to a holster. Some of the holsters are made of materials that grab on to the fabric.

I don't know, I recall some wearing them sans shirt, made for interesting side views. Nothing wrong with hippie chicks.
I had a friend back in the day who used to sometimes wear hers like that. She was memorable in so many ways. Sorry for the off-topic Reply.
