Encountered my first 2020 deer.....

Spraying for thistles in CRP when this little guy nearly got run over with an ATV. Showed no alarm or interest in what I was doing. About a foot away from the front tire....shut off motor and he just laid there looking at me waiting to get his picture taken.

First instinct, they appear so cute you just want to take them home for a pet and to let the grand kids see....then common sense kicks in and you come to your senses, realizing that would be the worse thing to do. Just one of those moments in the outdoors you file away in the memory bank appreciating Gods creations.

Grandkids found this one about a week ago while looking for Morels. Yesterday, the wife and I saw 4 on the way home from my son's(15 miles away) crossing the road with their moms(one set of twins and two singles). I think the skeeters/gnats are driving them outta the woods after all the rain.

This guy is loitering on one of our biggest properties. Oddly enough, I have never hunted here. Lol
This guy has a bunch of time to fill in that rack. He has width and mass already. Hes going to be a shooter by October!
