Welp, it's time to research my next (planned) revolver purchase.
This time it's going to be a DA/SA in 357. I'd like to stay in the sub $1000 msrp range.
I'm a bit more partial to blue and walnut but am open to stainless. What do you all think?
This will be a weekend open carry gun for when I feel like carrying something besides this. (Yes I know it's an auto, but it's the ONLY one that has given me as good of a first impression as my other revolvers.)

Light, easy to carry, good trigger, it's obviously the Ruger LCRx. It's not pretty, but it gets the job done.

If you want something a little bigger and and prettier, the Ruger Sp101, but you will be lucky if you get one with a decent trigger.

The S&W J-frame size are a little hard on the hands, but easy to carry.

The S&W K-frame size are a little large/heavy to carry, but easy to shoot.

Similar to the SP101, if you find a Taurus 85-series with a decent trigger and reliable, you done good.

All good suggestions, but i'm looking at more of a full size revolver.

I too say gp100. Or if you're feeling funky, 8 shot redhawk.
I'm a ruger guy though, so I'm biased.

I'm a Ruger guy as well, but i've handled and shot a few GP100s and there's something i can't put my finger on about them that just doesn't feel quite right to me. Makes me wonder if I should look up one of the new model 27 classics.

I'd grab my dad's old Police Service Six for this..
The Six series are icons. I actually used to have a Security Six. Like a fool I sold it to my cousin after only a few days because he offered me significantly more for it than I paid. I only remember that I paid $400 for it. :(

Any polished stainless med/lg frame revolver for open carry, nice properly aged leather holster and you will be the envy of the group.
My friends are more into modern, striker fired autos than revolvers so they could care less.
Until I touch off a full house load, that is. Then they watch me enjoy the horsepower while they complain about the muzzle blast. I smile just thinking about it.

The big “BOOM” at the range is always fun. You know it’s a wheelgunner down there...
Yupper. It's sometimes me with my dad's Redhawk. Other times with my m44 mosin nagant and old sniper ammo. I've caused a few guys to DROP their handguns or long guns with that. Oops.
Those loads are almost as loud as a 300 win mag.

686SSR. Great revolver. I love the grip. Probably the favorite gun I own. Not the most carried (I never carry it). Just good old fashioned aesthetics and pelasure

I agree, can't put my finger on it, but love the look of the GP100, SRH I'm fine with. SP101 great gun...not sure what it is...gotta be me that's the problem

I have an older blued Taurus. I think it's a model 65. 357, fixed sights, 4 inch barrel. Very similar to a S&W model 10 but it's 357.
If I were to open carry, that might be one of my choices, but I really like my 686 too. It's a bit bigger though.

I've never handled a SRH. The sp101 is a little gem but in my area the longer barreled ones are an enigma. The 2.25 in guns are everywhere. I want a 4.2 in. model for my hiking/camping pack.

I have a beat up old model 66 Taurus with th 6 in barrel. I recently retired it to 38spl plinker duty because It isn't going to handle the loads I want to use.
