This is my first 700 in quite awhile, and a bit of a departure for me lately.
This is a Remington 700 in 25-06. To complement the rifle we bought some vintage Redfield mounts and rings, found NIB from approx. the same year as the rifle. (1990-ish) The scope is a newer VX-2 4-12X40mm. to take advantage of the advances in optical performance from the newer scopes. I think this really came together nice. We have a few bullet and powder combos available to try, but I think first up will be some Nosler 115 gr. Ballistic tip hunting bullets and some IMR-4350.
We also have some 25-06 factory ammo to try including Federal Premium 117 gr. Sierra Game King as well as Federal Power-Shok 2506BS 117 gr. SP. Hopefully we will get a chance to report back on how it shoots.

I have a 700 BDL 25-06 from the mid-1980's. Redfield mounts with a Weaver Super Slam 2-10x42, which is a recent replacement for the Bushnell Scopechief I mounted when it was new. I don't have a picture but have to change that soon.

I bought a couple of boxes of Remington 80 gr.HP's when it was new to get the brass and those shot incredibly well. I never could duplicate that accuracy with my handloads until recently when I cooked up a new load with 117 Sierra PH's and IMR 4350. Good luck with yours, they are sweet shooters!

Every time I see .25-06, I immediately think antelope. That has to be one of the absolute best rounds for them. Perfect scope

You need to whack a big one. Stretch that thing out. Git R Done!

YES definitely.

With the original Redfield Sr. mounts on a long action you don't worry much about eye relief...that was Leupold's job!
