Track record is one. What gun has Sig put out in the last 10 years that didn’t have bugs. The P365 has had it’s shear of striker issues, but I believe they finely got if fixed with the fourth striker upgrade.
The other is, I am very familiar with the Glock platform. They are easier to work on then an AR. They also have a proven track record.
Plus I already have a Glock 43. I can swap the slides on the 43 and 48, so I’ve basically have four guns in two.
And being able to get the Glock 48 on the Blue Label discount was also a big plus.
But maybe the main reason is because I couldn’t get a USMC red back plate for the Sig P365 XL. ;)

I carried a Glock 22 or 21 for years as LE duty weapons. Glocks work.

go with USMC Red (Red-H167) Cerakote job on the slide...I know there's Maple Leaf Firearms in Celina, TX that can do the finish job pretty cheap (50.00 for one color, 100.00 for two tone battle worm finish)

Well, ya know ... try the 365 XL -- you just might like it. Or hell, even an original 365 -- the bugs are worked out, trust me (I work for the government).
After all, this SIG guy picked up a 43X and liked it so much, he gave one to one of his daughters (if that's not an endorsement, what is?).

I really didn’t like the grip on the 365, but then, I have never been a big fan of small guns. Back when I bought my Glock 43 the 365 wasn’t out yet, if I remember right. I had looked at the M&P Shield and preferred the feel of the 43.
I do like the way the 365 XL feels in my hand, but I had better options with the 48. With the 48, I could put the red parts on it and get the EGA on the back plate. And then there’s the fact that I could get the 48 for right at $200 less then the 365 XL.

It's had to happen somewhere but I haven't heard of a single problem with any 43x or 48. Glock seems to have released bug free guns right out of the gate this time. I've got 1200 rounds through an early 43x with all kinds of crap ammo (115gr WWB,Rem) and warm defense ammo (HST,GD124+p) and not one malfunction.

Good for you..once more..if a gent says 'get a glock' people howl and yell 'glock fan boy'..but if somebody says, 'get a sig'..people nod knowingly....

Gunny, have you considered Traction Grips? I have them on mine. I got the rubberish ones. They don't pull at clothing like the skateboard tape type stuff does. Helps when my hands are wet/sweaty. I got em on ebay for like $20.

AND and Apex trigger? I see you are sparing no expense. If that trigger doesn't quite float your boat, check out Johnny Glock. That guys knows Glock triggers.

I’ve never been a fan of grip tape, and I find that the grip on the 48 to be pretty good.
I did look a some of Johnny Glock’s work, nice.
I don’t think I’ll be doing much more to the 48 then I already have other then some night sights.
I am looking at buying another gun right now. My dealer is checking on the price of a Sig P320 Carry for me. If I get one, I’ll get a Wilson Combat grip frame for it. Or I could just go wild and buy a Wilson Combat WCP320.

You 48 looks great.

I've got a ton of Glock handguns but the 43x with Shield Arms mags is a great CCW.

I may end up buying a 48 eventually too.

Man, it sounds like you have an itch that you can't quite scratch.

Unless you have a need for two slim Glocks, you could just get on ebay or something and buy a complete 48 slide assembly. It'll slide right on to the 43X lower.

Gunny, I got a kick out of that comment about Sig. Nothing wrong with their firarms, they make great one's. But that comment has to give even Sig owners a chuckle. I have never thought about a Glock, but the 48 has really changed my thinking and I very well may get one after this mess in America is over. (if it does ever). I have shot many Glocks, and do not have a problem with the Stock Trigger. I guess I am just weird. I saw a video where the APX trigger lowered the Pull to about 3bs. I would not be interested.Maybe that was just a new product at the time of the vid.
I like the Slim design, and I love grip tape.
So in essence, I am interested in future range reports. Hopefully you will post some, before you move on to yet another gun that gets your interest.

Congrats on your retirement, you luck Dog. Seems you got out at the right time. And thank you for all your service both Marines and as a LE. Semper Fi.

I have always liked guns. Not just one brand or a certain model, but not all of them. I like to base my likes and dislikes on facts. There will always be Haters out there. I find that their hate has little to do with facts.
If the lovers of Sig were to get upset about my comments, that’s just tough. They can’t deny that the P320 had issues with the trigger and the P365 had issues with the striker. But the fact that Sig addressed these issues and it appears that they no longer have any problems. Hell, I own a Sig P320 M17. I like the gun and will most likely end up getting a P320 M18. Now getting a M18 may just be due to the Marine Corps adopting it, but what can I say.
I do find the grip on the P320 a little fat on the sides, this could be the reason I haven’t bought a P320 Carrier yet. But when Old Dog posted about getting the Wilson Combat grip frame, I really liked it. And now my dealer is looking for one for me.
Now don’t worry. The Glock 48 will be my EDC. I really like it. I have put a few rounds through it and it shoots pretty good with the new trigger. I should have my holster by today or tomorrow and I plan to go to one of the indoor ranges to put some rounds down range.

Gunny, a point we can really agree upon. I’m a shooter, not a collector. Honestly, if i haven’t shot it in six months, I’m more than likely to get rid of it because I have no use for it.

I have always liked shooting and guns are really a means to an end for me. Ive never been brand or platform loyal. I just roll with what works.

I once sat down and started a list of all of the firearms that I’ve owned at one time or another and stopped when I got to 250. There’s a lot to like about most of them.

Son just bought a Glock 48. Gets it today(BGC still running about 30 hours or so)..gonna go shoot it this WE..hope I don't like it;).
I'm pretty 'invested' in my G26 with G19 magazines with a sleeve...weight for G48 and G26 is the same..Grips(with 15r are the same length, G48 a little thinner)...we'll see..Not keen on spending the $ for a G48 of my own plus magazines, holster, etc...and losing about $250 or so on my G26..damn kid!!

I got the call from RM Holsters today letting my know that my holster was ready so, I took the short ride over and picked it up. :)

Looking good. I was just at my LGS yesterday eyeballing the G26, G48, and the P365 XL... Like many others, I'd love to own them all, but just can't justify it. IWB and OWB holster, mags, mag holster, sights, etc... Within the last year, I invested hundreds in my current EDC from spare parts, dozens of magazines, so on and so forth. I'm trying to break myself of always wanting to switch up everytime something new, improved, and buzzing is released that makes me feel like what I already have is inferior somehow... @FFGCOLORADO we are in the same boat lol.

Plus I kind of "feel" better about EDCing a heavy duty feeling duty grade gun vs the smaller guns marketed for civilian back up and/or conceal carry. If they can add capacity to the P365 and the G48, they should be able to add even more to the G26... I'd be all over a 4" G26 with more capacity.

@GunnyUSMC I probably missed it, but what where you EDCing before the 48? Do you shoot the G48 better than your prior EDC?

At work I have been carrying a Glock G45 Gen5. When off I have a Glock 19 RTF and a G43. Those are the two that I’ve been using the most for the last five years. I figured that the G48 puts me in between the two. It’s slim and with the Shield Arms mag I get the same capacity of the G19.
I’ve only put a few rounds through it so far, but I’m going to the range tomorrow and will put 50 or more through it. I also plan to go shooting Monday also.

Gunny...what's the exact model of this holster? (ECP20?) I like the way it rides so close to the body.

Tnx...CPL RUT
