JUST picked it up an hour ago and I wanted to get the mag well changeover done before even cleaning it.
Well, it is NOT happening. Followed the instructions, watched a good YT video; both show once those two bottom hex bolts are loosened, it should pull right up and out. This isn't budging AT ALL. It is almost like the gun is Acraglas bedded or Loc-Tited to the stock.

So, what am I missing? Or do I have to wait until tomorrow to contact6 Ruger as they leave at 4PM EDT

TIA for any and all help!

Did you fully unscrew the hex bolts? That would be the first thing I would check. Mine was a bit stiff to get out of the stock initially but it will come out.

I've yet to see one that didn't come out of the stock when the two bolts are loosened,

Did you remove the barrel first?

Followed the directions to a "T"; then followed that by loosening the bolts damn near all the way out (they would fall out); thing it STUCK. Do not want to get the rubber mallet so hoping someone who had the same issue can share some insight.

And you are talking about the reciever assembly being stuck together correct? Once that it is off you have to depress the mag release AND press on a little lever inside thh sr9 magwell simultaneously to remove the magwell.

Yep, yep, and yep............I did RTFM................and even passed reading...........:D (no offense taken)

Except I cannot get that receiver assembly out of the stock in order to do the magwell change - it is like it is loc-tited in the stock

Sounds like your stock is out of spec so it is really tight and the assembler brute forced them together. Just pull harder.

I am 6'3 and 290 - I cannot break them apart...............guess it will be a call to Ruger in the AM; which really sucks because those BLM folks are planning "rallies in the towns around me and I wanted it to be ready.

throw the thing in the freezer for the evening then let it thaw, sometimes that can separate a stuck stock, other wise break out that mallet. Clean it real well, then while pushing down on the trigger guard tap around the action and see if its moves any. If you have longer screws you can thread in you can do that then tap at those, as well as on the trigger guard.....
From what i can see thats a straight wall stock it shouldnt be able to mechanically lock in there.

Called Ruger first thing and get right through. Unfortunately, the girl had no answer. After I left call back info I decided to just give it a whack with the palm of my hand. THAT WORKED!
So all is well in BLM preparedness land

Thanks to all for the suggestions

 Glad you got it disassembled. I think I would rather have a tight fit than a loose one.

I suspect mine will enable me to burn through ammo rather quickly..........but since I am probably the only gun owner in the US without an AR or 12, this will augment the 12 gauge. I KNEW I bought those 33 round Glock mags for a reason years ago!

My only additional suggestion is a dab of blue Loctite on the fore end hex bolt once it’s all together. Mine had a tendency to shoot loose, as did two others that friends bought. Once I did this it’s been rock solid.

I kept mine without a scope or dot. I painted the front sight white-then-blaze orange and it really stands out nicely on the ghost ring.

I think these are fantastic rifles and I’m sure you will enjoy yours!

Stay safe.

Mine runs great and is a family favorite. During the initial quarantine I took my family up to our desert house to get them away from the city. I still had to go to work during the week so I had to leave the wife and kids alone. Although it is very safe up there, I still wanted them to have a firearm. I had been trying for months to get my wife to shoot the Ruger and finally circumstances forced that to happen. After about 10 rounds she turned around with a huge smile and said, "This one is mine!" I put an MCarbo trigger, extractor, and pins in just for fun and it now it shoots even better.

Glad you got yours in order and it will protect you well with the 33 rounders in place!

LOVE my Ruger PC Carbine. It's one of my favorite rifles. Dead reliable for the few hundred rounds I've shot it, 4 or 5 different ammo types and not a single issue.

I'm using 21 round Magpul Glock Mags, I have a Burris 1-5x scope and at 50 yards any coke can, clay target, or small rock isn't safe.

I have it ready and setup for my wife to use "around the house" if she ever needs to. My short 12 gauge just kicks too much for her to use. And 21 rounds of hollowpoint 9mm isn't something to sneeze at.
