5-SHOTS

Thanks for the very informative report (and for lots of photos too)! Looks to be a very well thought out and ergonomic design along with some great build quality! Would like to see a version with an adjustable rear sight to take advantage of it's accuracy potential.
Thanks bannockburn.
Yes, the Q100 slide is squared on the rear so it has a slightly longer sight radius than the K100 slide, so it would make sense to have a fully adjustable rear sight version of the Q100.
There are some Grand Power adjustable sights pistols already, the X-Calibur being probably the most known one and this has also a longer slide than the K100 and Q100.

The Grand Power in the end is still a young and little gun maker but it seems a very dynamic company. Infact here is a new version of the Q100, I think for competition use, the Q100 X-Trim.

Hopefully this week I'll go to the range and so I'll add some pics of the internals when I'll clean the pistol.

Today I've been at the range and I've shot 150 rounds. I disassembled it for a summary cleaning and to take some pics of the internals.

Details of the helical milling that allows the barrel to rotate and translate.

Great pistols, thanks for sharing. I had one of the first gen when imported by century arms. They had a recall on certain serial numbers regarding the barrel, but century did good on their part to get it replaced. Then got the X-Calibur, then soon after came the P11.

Thanks ifit. Yes, Grand Power pistols are addicting. I'd like to add some others in the future.

I didn't know they had a recall. Do you remember other informations?
At the beginning raw barrels were made by CZ using 51CrV4 steel. Raw slides came from FN Belgium. I think they now produce everything in house. The barrel has now a different machining process for the helical milling and a melonite finish.

Recoil spring is captive so is the guide rod which is held in place by the hold open steel pin.
The internals chassis is a solid piece of machined steel.

The trigger mechanism of this gun is very simple. The trigger bar pushes on a single piece balancer lever; at its ends there are respectively the tooth that retains the striker and the lever that disengages the automatic firing pin safety. When you press the trigger, the tooth that retains the striker goes down and the lever that disengages the automatic firing pin safety goes up. The disconnector is located laterally under the right guide. A single spring pulls the trigger forward. It couldn't be much more simpler than that.

Interesting, followed the herd to striker fire. I wonder if they will keep the hammer guns in the catalogue.
They are also offering the Q1 which is a crossover (compact slide with full size grip) and the Q1S which is a compact.
I think they only want to expand their line to compete also in the striker fired market. I don't think they are going to quit the hammer fired pistols line. When they recently expanded the pistols line to .40, .45 and 10mm they went hammer fired.

Solid guns and no MIM parts
If I recall, gunsmiths assembling the GP X-Caliburs stamp their guns they assembled with a Letter, that way they can trace back if they had issues. Not sure with the other GPs.
In regards to the barrel recall on the GP K100 Gen1, I Beleive barrel cracking
The grip finish were little to smooth for my needs, so I ended up stippling them for better grip.
My xcalibur n p11

I could be interested in the "second generation" version, what with the improved "flat faced" trigger and all. Just haven't seen one as yet.

Today range day :D
I fired 200 rounds (50 Sellier & Bellot 124grs FMJ-RN, 25 Geco 124grs FMJ-RN, 125 Fiocchi Top Target 124grs CP-RN). No problems.
Now the round count is 1400.
Ever since I bought this pistol, I've been neglecting the others. If it weren't for the covid crisis, the round count would have been much higher.
