Ruger LC9s. Buy or pass

Had one, first small 9mm..hated it..malfunction city plus it wore a blister right where the back strap/beaver tail touched my thumb..Mine was $319..shot it twice, traded it for a Glock 42...

I had the same experience... Below is an old post of mine. Putting aside that it died a horrible death out the box and till this day was the one and only pistol out of dozens that I ever had to send back, my impression was that it was snappy and not very comfortable to shoot. I've shot it side by side with my Shield and PPS M2, and you can feel and tell the difference in build quality, fit and finish, feel in the hand, and felt recoil. Ruger did get it back to me ASAP on their dime though... My wife didn't like the gun, and ended up with my Shield. I got stuck with the LC9s Pro that was brought for her. I never got around to selling it.

my wife is interested in getting her CCP and a pistol of her own. She owned a Taurus Slim in the past, but with me being influenced by Taurus bashing, I stirred her towards the Ruger LC9s Pro after she tried one at the range... The mag release on her LC9 became very difficult to push, it started to get light strikes, and then later the trigger gave out completely. Pull the trigger and absolutely nothing happens. No sound, no nothin'.To top it all off, when I got home and went to clean the Shield, the captured recoil spring came apart...

In all the years that I've owned firearms, I've never had a problem and never had to use warranty services. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just kept my mouth shut, ignored the naysayers and snobs, and just purchase Taurus Slim like she was wanted in the first place.

Bought my old girlfriend one. Good gun with a very nice trigger. That being said, I wouldn't go out and buy one as I'd rather put the money towards something better.
