On 17 September 2010 Dr. Davis and I were bidding on the same rare revolver listed on GunBroker. I let him have it for the RPRCA collection.

Fast Forward to 12 June of 2020. Thanks to October Country I now own that very revolver that is still Uber rare being that there is still not another one known to exist. The revolver is a Gregorelli and Uberti steel frame, .36 caliber Sheriffs Model Leech and Rigdon with a blank cylinder, Navy Arms Barrel Address, and a 1961 Date code. It has never been fired and appears to have never been cocked. It is as pristine as the day it was made Pictures follow:

That is a beautiful revolver! I did not hook up with the OC site until early December 2019 and missed quite few amazing deals. I think OC did not know what a Davis/RPRCA motherlode they had, and they vastly undersold them at very nice prices. I got two cased sets for a very good price. I think they have wised up lately as what they have left is highly priced and it will take some dickering on their part to move those guns. Dr. Davis died in September last year, and if you bought that gun in June 2020 you had advanced knowledge that most of us did not have. Kudos to you!

Regards,

Jim

Not fair!! Isnt that considered insider trading or some such crime due to having inside knowledge not available to us?! Congrats on your purchase Mr.Fingersmcgee

I've communicated with Dr. Davis about replica percussion revolvers for more than ten years, so I knew generally what the collection contained. I was saddened by his passing last year and will miss our chats.

From talking to October Country, there are still some GUs that havent been listed yet. I'm also waiting on some pocket models.

Congratulations, its a beauty! I keep checking back to their site! Its been weeks since OC put up anything new from Dr. Davis' collection. I've bought two of his revolvers and would like to buy more but what's online has dwindled from three pages to just part of one with several sold items still listed. Is every thing OK with them Fingers or are they sheltering form Covid 19?

I spoke with them almost 2 weeks ago, my interpretation is he's busy and just hasn't had time to add more items.

But, sounds like he's got some interesting things left to throw up there. Just have to wait and see...

I am awaiting but not anticipating anything close to what it was in December-January. OC used to post new offerings on Fridays but that may not be the case these days.

I watch every day.

Looks as though he has em priced right. The G&Us should be a little higher than an ASM, Uberti or Pietta because of their scarcity and age. There are a couple I'd like to have; but I've already bought 4 from Dr. Davis's collection, and there are a couple on Rock Island I would like, and the piggy bank is empty.
