I built a similar off of plans from the internet using 4x4s for legs and Trex for the top & seats. Don't want to guess the weight, but it does take 2 men and a small boy to move it:
I had been wanting a shooting bench for my backyard range and found a plan I liked online. Last week, a buddy and I got it built. View attachment 921266
All quick update for posterity and anybody that's searching for shooting bench ideas in the future.
When making your plans, take a hard look at extending the length/depth of your bench!
For many years I used the above pictured bench (Common, popular, plan found on the net) as is, and was completely satisfied. For load development I used an Oehler 35P chrono mounted on a tripod at 10'.
Enter the LabRadar with table top mount. No issues with 22" and under barrels, but big issues with 24" inch barrels. Simply not enough room on the table top to fit the LabRadar with either the flat table top mount or a small tripod with this bench design. For the longer barrels I had to use a tripod to position the LabRadar VS the table top mount, or find myself sitting too far back to keep the muzzle in line with the Labradar. . Pictured with Rem M7 20" barrel:
24" gun with LabRadar on tripod:
After screwing with C-Clamps and the large tripod I finally broke down and extended my bench top by a couple boards to allow me to fit a 26" barrel. Just something to consider when designing your bench.
