Been collecting parts and ideas for almost 5 years. With the part time working lately I was able to start the project. It's still a work in progress, I used everything and anything laying around here to get it this far. I used cedar for everything I could, but couldn't afford the cedar boards for the shelving, I can change them out later when pay gets back to normal.

This is as far as I got, it was fun getting this project started, I'll post updates as I make changes.

Hi everyone, made a few changes, added Locke's to the outer doors, then installed a floor mount base safe that I use for my handguns, I think it's coming along nice considering our NEW lifestyle with covid and Florida...No worries here, I wore my mask building this beast....

Little by little I'm getting this gun cabinet close to what I need....until I buy another gun:eek:

I like it. A lot. Bet that cedar planking smells good. Since it appears I’m on long term teleworking status I moved a wooden/glass Pulaski gun cabinet into the reloading room. It had been sitting empty in the basement for 15 years because everything went into safes. Since I’m home full time now I decided I liked looking at my black powder rifles vs. them sitting in safes. If no one is home they go back in the safe but with covid that hasn’t happened in a while.

Me too, I like opening the locked cabinet and unlocking the safe and displaying the handguns, I'm working on a way to lock up the rifles inside too. Just haven't found the correct setup yet. But my man cave is very secure too...even the better half has to ask to enter:what:

Your gun cabinet looks great! Always liked to have a wood display case to keep my black powder rifle and air rifles in, pretty much for show. Everything else goes into the safes.

That looks great. I like working with cedar, it smells so good and machines great. Unfortunately it is also weak and when I build anything with cedar, I build a support frame out of white oak for strength.
