...compatible with a Bushnell TRS25 red dot. Hoping for something economical but decent. Any suggestions?

Never mind. After researching this more I'm reconsidering the flip-up. Given that this is a short range 'fun gun' the cost of a decent magnifier outweighs its utility.

I still mount magnified optics (scopes) on ARs for the rest of the family but all of personal ARs are irons and/or red dots sans magnification.

Every year or so, I fall into the same cycle of consideration...
I like the idea of a red dot for a “short range only” rifle, so I pull one off of the shelf... within a couple of months, I want a closer look at targets, so I stick on a magnifier... and within a couple more months, I tire of the flip-flop game between zoom and no zoom, and I end up sticking moderate power zoom optic back on top, or at least an LPVO.

Thats where I end up. I like the dots cause they are light and fast, but after a few months off they come again.....my .350 uppers lasted the longest with a dot, and thats simply because I dont really use it.

I agree with varminterror,
I'll say one thing the magnifier may just make the imperfections bigger on the trs-25. A 1-4 or 1-6 would be nice a leupold with the firedot would be sweet.
