I have a AR15 that is an Omni lower, not the hybrid but the full poly. Omni said it had a lifetime warranty. I was offered 650 for it. It has a PSA freedom upper. The gun is new I fired one mag thoguht it to make sure it worked. I have about 350 into it and have had it for several years. I just need to cull some guns and this seems like its fair all around. I just don't want to leave money on the table if prices have popped because of all that is going on. Thanks for any help.

Thanks. I thought so. Gun prices are moving so fast right now its hard to keep up.

I don't agree on shooting it makes it not new. These are shot at the factory to make sure they are fine. I built the lower and bought the upper and wanted to make sure it was not jamming or misfiring.

A friend who works in a LGS said pistols and ARs are selling about as fast as they can get them in, both new and used. Take the deal and move on. Fair? Who determines fair?

I have some pistols I need to sell also. I also have a few more ARs to sell but I may wait till closer to election. If it looks like the dems will sweep I bet prices will spike. I just wanted to get rid of that Omni. I don't like Poly Ar lowers. This was a full poly not the hybrid. Even then I would not want it. I think I paid 15 dollars for the lower because the shop could not sell it. For 15 bucks I could not pass it up. All the money was in the PSA freedom upper.

The buyer always does, because otherwise they will walk away.

That is a funny question. Basic economics. The market determines value. Supply and demand. We now have high demand and lower supply. The price goes up.

A basic AR is worth about $650. Does he know he’s getting a plastic lower? The question of the thread was whether it is a fair deal. My LGS sells the hybrid pistols complete for $399.

Caveat Emptor.
It said in your advertisement that it was a barely used Omni lower. Functional even.

If they who wish to purchase the rifle cannot be bothered to know what it is they are buying, is it up to you to Nanny them about what AR lowers are what?
This assumes they don’t know a thing about them.

Let us assume they do know what they want, went to a firearms auction site and shopped for exactly what they wanted, found an early Omni and almost wet themselves to get it first.
They won. They are happy.

You sold your lower and made money to feed you and yours. You are happy.

What the rest of us think is immaterial.

You bought it. You knew what it was. I don’t think it is any different in this situation.
No one buys a VW Golf and is surprised it’s a turbo diesel.

You might be right. I’m just coming from the perspective of a gun store (which you aren’t, I know). They consider any gun that’s user fired to be used and I think a lot of people base their opinions on that too. It’s irrelevant semantics for this post I guess.

I know what you are saying, you drive a car around for a half a day in a test drive and its new, sign it in your name and drive it off the lot and its used. This is semantics and it only exists as a line to say used or not. If I were buying I would use it to lower the price selling and I would say its not used its owned but new.

Its not a hybrid. That one seems to hold value. its a poly lower not the poly with metal at the stress points. Made the sale this AM, Thanks for the replies. I mostly wanted to know what they are going for in all the riot and Covid panic going on. I once sold a Chinese Mak and had it listed for 199 and people started coming out of the wood work trying to push a rocket fast sale. That sent my radar up and when I did a bit of research I found that since they were banned the gun was going for 350 to 500. So I almost sold it too cheap. That is my reason for checking mostly. I have about 450 in the gun. The Freedom upper is not even available at the moment. Last I saw on PAS it was around 379 for a 16 inch when they had them. The lower parts kit was around 40 the butt stock and tube around 50. I also have time in it so if there is 50 to 100 bucks in profit that would be big.

"Fair' is when both parties to a sale are happy. You have to take it from there.
Some tell me value is what ever you can get for it. I hid nothing. It is what it is. anyone think a buyer would say I have to pay you more for your grand dads colt you don't know value and its too cheap? That fantasy only exists on the fake show pawn stars or American Pickers.

True. I have paid 379 for a PSA upper and as low as 179 for the same freedom upper with BCG. I don't feel I got ripped off on either price. It was the price things were selling for. But I learned to stack them cheap and deep when they are low. I have done this with mags. If prices spike on those I will be selling my 8 dollar 30 rounders for much more. If not I will keep them. No issue.

I agree livelife. I like to double my money. Some times its just not possible or hard. I have a Ruger P89 in very good condition. Actually two and one is SS and that one I am keeping. The blued one I want to sell. I have 275 in it. That is what they seem to go for. That gun was built like a tank so I am not going to take a loss on it. I will keep it unless prices and panic drive up the value.
