Picked up a Tavor 7 and I need a recommendation on a bullet for target shooting at 200 yds primarily. The barrel is 16.5 inches with a 1/12 twist.

You don't really need anything fancy at that range and I suspect you're not worried about squeezing the last bit of accuracy out of it. Any decent 150-168 gr bullet should be OK. But I've used these some in both 308 and 6.5 CM and like them quite a bit. They aren't expensive and they seem to shoot just as good as some of the high end target bullets.

I've had great results with Nosler's 150gr BT in a Howa bolt action 1:12 twist with 45gr of Varget F-210, 2.80" col.

The guy said "target shooting" which would mean to me that he wishes to get the best accuracy possible out of his gun. Since he wants to know what "bullet" and didn't say anything about buying loaded ammo I presume he handloads. With that in mind I would recommend a 168 grain match bullet. My preference is Berger with a close second being Sierra.

Other bullets than Berger and Sierra can give very good performance. Some I've had excellent results with are Remington Core Lokts (yes, really), Barnes TSX and Nosler Accubonds.

I read somewhere on the internet, yeah I know, that bullets over 150g weren't good in a 1/12 barrel.
Agree, disagree?

Well, you typically need a faster twist for longer bullets, but you won’t really know unless you try.

If you are going for the utmost in accuracy, what was said above is right in. First Berger and Sierra a close second.

I’ll again recommend the cheapest route possible though. The Tavor 7 is that Bull Pup gun. Right? I wouldn’t even know how to start to bench that thing or get enough glass on it to take full advantage of ammunition that’s going to be expensive even if you’re rolling your own.

I’m thinking that when you say target shooting, you’re talking about shooting at steel and not for groups.

Go the the Berger web site. They have a calculator. Just enter the barrel twist and select one of their bullets from a drop down menu and it will tell you if the selected bullet/twist give adequate stability.

Just because a bullet is predicted to be unstable doesn't mean it will be. I shoot 77 grain BTHP match bullets out of a 223 with a 1:10 twist barrel. The bullets aren't supposed to be stable but they shoot well; in fact better than any other bullets I've tried in it.

I've used the Nosler 155 BTHP extensively in the Swiss .30 calibers as well as the M1 Garand. It holds up well to the wind to 300m, and is optimal for the OPs rate of twist. Others to consider are the other 155 gr "palma" bullets from Sierra, Speer, Lapua$$$, and Hornady. I believe Hornady also makes the ELD-M in this weight, I'd have to google it. This bullet will gain a slight ballistic advantage at the expense of expense.

Leaving the match bullet realm, some to consider are the Speer 150 Hot Core and 150BTSP. I'd also try the Hornady 150SST. I've gotten great accuracy from these bullets, rivaling match bullet accuracy. They outshoot their price point. The Hornady 150 FMJBT is a fine bullet also, but I've found them harder to find a top load for. Sierras are good too, but IMHO, outside of serious match shooting (and that is debateable as H and N have come a long ways with their match bullets) you get nothing but a green box and a name for the extra money.

168s should work in your rifle as well, but given the stated distance, I see no need for the added cost and recoil vs 150-155 weights, UNLESS YOUR RIFLE AND LOADS REALLY LIKES THEM.
