Anyone have any first hand experience with the Springfield Armory SASS or Pachmyer Dominator?
Wanted one badly when they came out but was teaching school at the time.
seemed like a fun Idea.

a 15 inch barreled .308 (or .223 or .358 or some others) pistol sounded like a hoot and a half!

...and you could just buy the "upper" and put it on a pre existing 1911-ish grip frame!

I made even less money while a gun rag writer but got exposed to the SA Omega and about went nuts wondering if the SASS would work on an Omega and if a Bob Day 30x .22 conversion would work on one.... then the distributer pulled the plug on the worst of the US Guns magazines (see the pun anyone?) and I had NO money to play with.

I suppose part of why I wanted one was they reminded me of the Merrill which had a very 1911 looking grip. I know I shot the Merrill with .44 Magnum and think I shot one with .30-30, but most .30-30 was with a T/C. Back in the late 1970's.

Oddly for today ,I guess, but all my holster rifle shooting was with iron sights back then. Of course we thought 100 to 200 meters was "long range."
