Target Sports USA delay

Apparently so. Just checked .22lr availability at Target Sports USA. Even the match-grade selection is down from what it was a week or two ago.
The 9mm is even more saddening. When I checked earlier today, they had 6 total listings for 9mm. None of FMJ, all hollow points and most were $40 a box

No doubt.....If you need gas during a shortage time and all they have is premium, you'll grit your teeth and fill the tank.

True.
Just my luck I picked now to buy a CZ 457.
Guess I'll bite the financial bullet and order in some higher end Lapua or Eley.

Based on one order cancellation after three weeks of being in process, and the dubious explanation given (arrived damaged), I believe that this outfit, and most other discount sellers, do not keep any inventory. Rather, they are adopting the inventory of distributors or manufacturers. After you order, they then order. The Remington ammo I was promised probably did not arrive due to the Covid closing of the Remington factory.

I caught MiniMags in stock at Target Sports on Friday and ordered a case.
They "created a label" this morning. We shall see.

I also ordered a couple of AFDs from Greg Cote, they came in today!

On the other hand, my 5/19 order for Bayou Bullets is "awaiting fulfillment" but they did warn of high volume, slow delivery.

Nah. Target Sports USA is more than a drop shipper. I finally ponied up for the $99 prime membership (standing discount, plus free shipping), but I and many others here have bought from 'em for years.
In normal times, they're among the best-supplied and fastest national ammo retailers around. They, in fact, were keeping up better than most in the first couple months of the 'rona scare ... just 2 to 3 business days delay from order date. (In non-panic buying days, they'd usually have your order out next business day).
They couldn't have done that if they were merely drop shippers.

Got both the Target Sports and UPS "your order has shipped" notifications today. Thirteen calendar days from order date to shipping date.
Wow. If Target Sports is that jammed up, the intensity of the panic run has taken another ratchet upward.
Bummer.

I keep up with Target sports early each day. Today they have nothing but a few boxes of 9mm defense ammo. (around $36.00 ea)

The Perfect Storm and another one on the way.

It's been my experience that many online retailers do a combination of both selling their own inventory and drop shipping inventory they do not have.

Once I started using TS usa I do not think I have used anything else. Shipping, price, packing etc are always exceeded expectations. I believe they have their OWN warehouse as shown below.
"Live inventory System" as advertised

Oh, I'd imagine Target Sports USA does some drop shipping, but I'm sure that they have their own inventory. In normal times, they move much too promptly to be simple drop shippers.
To be clear, I'm in no way ripping on them. In my experience, they're among the best at what they do. My point was more that if Target Sports is both slammed with orders and low on inventory, you KNOW it's a serious run.

I had never used Target Sports before so it is encouraging to know most you guys speak highly of them.

Ammoseek search led me to them, plus they're only two States away. I ordered 300 PPU 7.62x25 Tok ammo on 6/16, and the website said the same 8-10 days delay.

I was actually looking for brass, but for the cost of it made more sense to make my own "once fired"

They're a solid company. They can't, of course, always have the ammo we want exactly when we want it, but their inventory system is better than most, they price fairly and they're decent about customer communication.

I do like Target Sports. Middle / end of last year they had 50rd boxes of Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot pistol ammo for 1/2 off at the case price with free shipping.

I replenished all my carry ammo buying a case of each.

These days I check www.ammoseek.com to find the best price.
Snagged 1k if Fiocchi 357 mag JHP a month or so ago. Came to $18.94 a box of 50 with shipping and tax from Freedom Munitions.

An order I placed from Target on 6/10/20 for some .22lr and some 9mm shipped Monday, 6/22 with an expected delivery date of 6/24.

Target has met the projected ship by dates with a day or so on all my orders from them. I am a prime member and have saved more than the membership cost in shipping alone.
