Full Wadcutters anyone

I used to cast a 208 Gr "button nosed" WC from a Lee mold, they cut full diameter holes in whatever they hit. I used
a 6" foam backed piece of cardboard as a target holder once and when I was done there were a bunch of 6" long
.44 caliber "snakes" laying behind the target. Looked like they were cut out with a laser, just perfect little round pieces.

Oh, Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Spl.

I used to carry 118gr full wadcutters in a max load for 32swl. In a 38spl I would absolutely be looking at the 158s (have some even, but have never packed a 38, recently got a couple to try out though) and would expect similar performance only on a larger scale. FWIW, a 32swl loaded hot with 118s over bullseye will go through a raccoon lengthwise, and he flails about for about 3 seconds before realizing he is dead. A 38 probably would have been more like 2 seconds of flailing.

I keep wadcutters in my S&W Model 36 snubbie,,,
Everything I have read about hollow points out of short barrels is bad.

I have read quite a few articles on wadcutters for SD
They punch a hole that bleeds rather than poking a hole that seals.

I shot a feral dog once with a 4" S&W loaded with wadcutters,,,
I've never seen an entry wound bleed as much.

But to be honest the only reason I have them is I inherited 100 rounds of factory Remington WC,,,
I don't think I would have gone to the trouble to hunt some down,,,
I haven't seen any on a store shelf in years.
