My CA 357mag Professional rolled in today ..
I really like the grips .. reminds me of a set of grips I had on a Dan Wesson ..

Its a six shot 357 mag 3 inch barrel, built on the
XL frame .. Im going to get weight tomorrow..
Seems to be light .. well balanced.. the cylinder is recessed.. fiber optic front sight ..

It looks good.

It'll be interesting to see if it shoots to POA, and what loads do it at least gets closest.

I like how those grips look.

Recessed chambers you say? That's an intriguing return to bygone days.

Does that extractor rod have enough length to fully extract spent 357 brass? Looks like it might be a little short to me, but it's simple to test.

I might be considering one of these or the 3" Taurus 856UL. Wish Smith & Wesson would make a alloy M66 or M65 snub nose. I don't need one, but it'd be nice to have.

Hopefully I will get to the range .. and git to shoot .. they are busy .. everyone playing with new toys

Which is a great thing !!!

I have some 130gr FMJ 357mag .. That Im gonna try

I really like the looks of this thing. If it shoots to POA I can see it finding a home in the safe at some point. Please report back after the range trip!

Not gonna lie and say I have a real need for it, but the want is real...

It's an intriguing revolver, but I wonder if they got the sights right on this one.

I'm very curious as to how it shoots.

I have forgotten about this post .. yes .. I have had it to the range .. limited time .. I took several handguns .. I ran Remington UMC 125gr JHP 357mag
Known to be a stout load .. recoil was not bad .. I had a paper plate set up a 8 to 10 yds ... pretty much dead on .. 6 shots all in a tight little circle....
I was mostly trying out a 9mm conversion barrel in my 23 .. I just took a few extra guns
I missed out on a good deal on a Kel tec 32acp also while at the range ..

You can`t ever have too many .357`s.
Have 3 S&W`s, 1 Marlin with a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug thrown in but the CA was bought back in the 80`s long before the S&W`s due to my limited funds then. This was the "old" Charter Arms which I believe went out of business then was brought back some years ago. Pretty good gun for which it was bought for. Rides in the truck console, a true "truck gun" so if it get`s stolen then no great loss as it`s been paid for, for a looooong time!

You've piqued my interest in this handgun. I recently picked up a (preowned of course) Astra .357 Magnum with 3" barrel. The fact that Astra produced P&R revolvers until the day the master OFF button was pushed has always impressed me. Plus, I like the 3" barrel option: it's neither a snub, nor a full 4 or more inches "carry" vs "concealed carry" design for my frame anyway. I too like the grips on your CA acquisition.

I’m glad it’s shooting to POA for you. I wish they could get the 32 mag to do the same. I may call them and see if they have figured out a legit fix for the 32.

They've sold so few of them compared to what they will the .357 that they don't care. I plan to sell mine and have it be someone else's problem and I plan to replace it with a .327 LCRx. That way I can shoot .32 Mag loads with 85 grain XTP's loaded right to (maybe a bit beyond) max load data.
