Id look at either a Hornady Interlock 180 or a Speer HotCor 180. Both are flat base. The Hornady has a cannelure. I use the Hornady ALOT...use it in my 308s and my 7.5x55 K31.

Those are the ones I have experience with at least. Remington makes a Core-lokt, Nosler has a few that might be a good choice.

Yup, Winchester Sivertips.

My Grandfather loved them for the .30-30 because the tips didn't get mooshed loading/unloading the deer rifle.

Stay safe.

There were a couple boxes of those bullets on Gun Broker last fall. I quit bidding when the price got to $.50 each. I think someone paid over $.75 each for them. I like the Speer Hot Cor 180's best performance wise but they might be a little hard to find right nnow.go on Ammo Seek .com select 308 and sort by bullet weight. I always compare shipping too as it can be quite high when bullets seem a good deal.

My Uncle loved them also in his 32 WCF. He was always asking if anyone had any he could buy from them.
I have two left in 30-30. It's just an aluminum cap but some of the old timers sure swore by them.
