Does anyone use mag extensions on their Glock 17/34 mags? If so what brand and what type of results have you had? Thanks

Yes on my OEM 33 rd mags. They are the ones the factory uses. LONG ago I bought a few to try on some G-17. I ended up giving them away as it seemed all but impossible to get the base plate off. Then years later I found they make a tool to do this :D
The ones that come on the 33 round "happy sticks" seem great as they always have worked .

The Glock extensions work fine. Don’t forget to get the little triangle piece that goes in there. You would think they would sell them together.

There are heavy springs you can get as well, but I have not tried them. My mags have worked fine without them.

I like the Glock ones rskent mentioned above. My 17/34 are really just range/competition guns, so the added size doesn't matter. For the 26, I like the Pearce extension- it doesn't add rounds, but it gives your pinky somewhere to go.

+2 OEM mag extensions on G19 and G17 mags have never given me an issue.

+6 Arredondo mag extensions have mostly been good; one required me to do a bit of filing on installation where the extension met the mag body tube.

Both types of extensions have been in my rotation through training courses and probably about ten thousand rounds of practice.

Now I just carry a 17 rounder in it and one of th OEM 24 rounders for reload. The 24 rounders are perfect length.

Thanks for the info, do you need to replace the springs on the Glock extensions?

I don't use mag extensions but I've seen listed at MidwayUSA 10 and 11 coil mag springs for $7.99ea. 10 coils are stock replacement and 11 coils are for +2 extensions. I would test the heck out of whatever combination you you get before counting on it for defense. You can also buy 19x magazines with 19 round capacity.

Alternatively, both springs are available for $4.00 from Glock.

I've had two that LOOKED OEM but probably weren't, that failed. I expect they were chinese copies that I got second hand. If you want the best IMO look at Taylor Freelance. Taran Tactical also makes good ones.

A few years back a got a couple of extensions and springs from Glockmiester - they worked well but I really have no need for them.

Using the emp +6 by strike industries. I however can only squish 5 in there. They function great. Also fit in the uspsa magazine box.

I've had good luck with the Pearce +2 extensions for my Gen4 G26/G27 magazines using the stock springs, and they get used every week.

I use Glock Factory two round extensions on my Glock 26. I've had them on for a year or so with no issues. Without the Glock tool they are difficult to install but not prohibitively so.

For a Glock 19 a Glock 17 magazine and an X-Grip might be simpler
