I like the factory wood grips on my stainless Blackhawk. Although a time or two I've thought of making my own out of some other wood. Maybe cherry if I find a couple nice pieces.

I’m a big fan of factory Ruger wood. Redhawk for example. Looks great. If I had a sp101 I’d put badger sport bird eye maple grips on there FAST As lightning!

I'm waitin on a 4.2" SP101 right now. My lgs figures it'll be another 3-4 weeks. Been waiting 3 weeks already. Oh well patience is a virtue that must be exercised during these trying times.

I really like these vintage grips that Russwood made for the previous owner of my 686-0, I had planned on putting some Arhends on it, but like these too much:

I got a pair of aftermarket grips for my American Arms Escort 380, but I have not filed the plastic down to fit yet.

Oh, and that's an automatic. Sorry for posting in a revolver thread.

Bob Wright, Your single actions could have the plainest grips in the World and still be beauties. I'm not particularly a single action guy, but your SAs are some of the best looking firearms of any kind that I have seen anywhere.

I only have a couple aftermarket grips that might be considered "fancy". A S&W set from Keith Brown, and SIG set from the folks at Hogue.

This some Culina grips I had made for some of my Smith & Wesson’s. They make some very nice grips for the money. To me nothing sets off and makes a revolver pop, like some nice wood. I have a 1911, I put a set of ivory grips on, they are ok, but not as nice, as some pretty wood would be. It just doesn’t have the same feel as wood grips do. If anyone is looking for nice grips for a Smith and Wesson revolver, I would recommend giving Culina a look. I believe his work is right up there with Keith Brown and not as expensive. I have a set of Birdseye maple on order now. They should be ready in the next few weeks. I had to wait a little over a year for the black and white ebony, but most only take a couple months to ship.
