Hello,
I got a chance to buy some SRM (6000 to be exact) because my usual choice CCI SRM have been impossible to find a while ago. I’ve shot about 1000 of them now in my 3 AR’s and have been very pleased. No one FTF in the bunch. Anyone else have similar results or any thoughts? Thanks

I bought the SRM as well as SPP a few months ago. Shooting the SRMs in 300BO. Most manuals call for standard small rifle, but Hodgdon specifies SRM. I’ve loaded both, and my lighter 110gr and 120gr loads cycle at a lower charge than the SRP I typically use. I’m currently trying the Fiocchi SPP in 9mm and .40 S&W. No issues noted thus far.

I picked up a few 1500ct boxes a few years ago. Figured they would work for range ammo if nothing else. So far I have had several different rifle loads with them which were just as accurate as any other primers I've used.

With handgun loads everything has been the same. The only problem I've had is they are usually out of stock when I am looking to buy primers.

I've tried just about every primer out there in the last 30 years, and can honestly say that, one exception, I have had no problems with any of them.

That exception would be some CCI primers back in the early 1990s were somewhat larger diameter than other brands. Since then I've had no problems.

The Fiocchi SPP that I've used have been issue free. Enough so that when Midway (?) had them on sale late last year at 2.7¢ each in case lots (cases of 15k), I grabbed some.

I have a comfortable supply.

I have gone through 2 cases of them in 9mm with 0 failures. I used cci exclusively for 20+years but bought a case at midsouth to try as they were cheaper and in stock at the time and will do so again.

I bought 12k of the spp and have had no problems at all. They cycle through my Dillon presses with no issues and ignite reliably. A+ for these primers. Incidentally, I have shot about 5k of them.

I know components are pretty much sold out everywhere, but usually where is the best place to find these primers?

I bought 18k SPP, 12k SRM and having no issues. Haven't used all of those yet, but probably half or so. I *know* you can squish the bejeezus out of them sideways on a 650 and not ignite them :) They will also ignite in the firearm and squib under that condition......SPP anyway.

I like them and will buy more when available. $39 for 1500 is hard to beat. Only minor gripe is the 150 per box size. I end up doing the small row of 6 + 12 rows of 8 (102 primers) then set the remaining 48 aside. Repeat for next pickup tube, then do a third pickup tube with the two partial boxes of 48 for 96 there. So I tend to work 2 boxes, 300 primers at a time just due to that odd amount & the 8 per row packaging. Can be a little messy dumping into flip tray and one gets away sometimes because I'm dumping a partial box of primers that are stored on their sides vs flat.

Not an exact count but probably have shot 7-8k of them so far. The ONLY issues I've had are my fault - sideways primer, upside down primer. None have looked correct and failed to ignite. I notice zero difference in load performance (large batch training ammo - not precision benchrest loads) vs CCI #41 or #500.

At some time a friend needed some SR primers because lots of people panicked and bought everything they could get their hands on.

I always have a couple thousand S&B on stock so I lent him 300 and he said as soon as they are available I'd get them back.
So after some months he gave me two boxes of Fiocchi SR primers (150 each).
They seated fine but about every 5th or so didn't fire.
Not in my two ARs, not in another bolt action.
The rest I didn't use still lie around and I hope someone else asks me for some SR primers.
The S&B (SP, SPM, SR, LP, LR) work perfectly for me and they are among the cheaper primers here. My Dillon like them and my Forster Co-Ax also.

But for someone else it might be just the opposite.
Products change, quality changes, weapons are different, some press like some primers more then others.
Maybe you try different primers first before you place and order for 10.000 (or more).

Outdoor Limited in High Point, NC is where I get them. They're local for me, so no shipping, just sales tax. They're out & don't really carry much as far as reloading stuff but what they do carry is really inexpensive. Remington 115gr FMJ 9mm @ 6¢, Wolf 55gr .223 FMJ @ 6¢, & the fiocchi primers @ .2.2¢ for a few examples. Hard to find on their website.....Accessories > Reloading > Primers then you have to go to filter and uncheck "hide out of stock" if you want to set up an email alert for when something is back in stock.

No idea how their shipping + Hazmat charges are.

I think I bought mine at Midsouth Shooters Supply. I only buy stuff when on sale and then I buy a whole bunch. I try to always have a stock of supplies. Goes for everything not just "gun stuff" (my girlfriends general term). Makes life easier. Best wishes.

How is the shape and finish on the Fiocchi's? I've heard that some folks have had issues with auto primer loaders with winchesters in particular and that CCIs always fed well. I'm currently using a Hornady 1911 and so far CCIs seem to feed problem free. Was thinking about picking up some Fiocchi's if I can't find more CCIs, so was curious if anyone has used them with any autofeeders and how uniform and smoothly finished they are.
