Andrew Branca just posted on his blog a commentary on available SD insurance offerings, prompted by the recent introduction of such a policy from Lockton, former underwriter of the now-defunct NRA Carry Guard.
The MUST AVOID Self-Defense Insurance Trap
By Attorney Andrew Branca / July 10, 2020
His key point is that the Lockton policy, like its NRA predecessor, is for reimbursement only, and only after charges are dropped or there is an acquittal.
Branca summarizes comments about CCW Safe, ACLDN, USCCA, and of course promotes CCW Safe as his sponsor and selected insurance for himself.

Personal note: I have been with ACLDN almost since it started, and intend to stay with them. That said, there seem to be some apparent advantages for CCW Safe, too.

You have to read all to similar polices. They all have such terms and conditions. There are numerous loopholes for the insurer. They can defend you and force you to repay them. I have CCW Safe. It is a business service and not an insurance company. It’s contract has no loopholes. It is clear about what is covered and what is not. Anyone interested in purchasing such coverage should read the policy not just the marketing materials.
