Picked this up after work today. 2.75" M69 in 44mag.
Changed out the factory grips for some Ahrend's as soon as I got home (I actually bought these grips with this gun in mind when I found out Kim Ahrend was closing up shop) The factory grips were ok but these are so much better.
Double action trigger is nice and smooth, single action is light and crisp.
Hope to put some rounds through it this weekend and see how it shoots.

I’ve been wanting one of those since they came out, either it or the 4”. I’ll have to handle both when the opportunity arises but really like the looks of the 2.75”, enjoy yours!

I had the 4 inch model that I dearly loved and still miss.....

If they ever get smart and make a L frame 5 shot 41 magnum on the same lines I’ll be on it like a chicken on a June bug!

I also had one and let it go. In my case, in trade for a beautiful Webley MK.VI.

I definitely mean to rebuy another in the future. Mine was an ex range use gun and it was nicely smoothed in but not worn out thanks to the high price tag on .44mag ammo. I really shot it well and it carried nice but the Webley was just too tempting.

Just wanted to update in case anyone is wondering, trigger gauge shows a consistent 4.75lbs on the single action pull. The double action pull is too heavy for my gauge that tops out at 8lbs, but it is very smooth and feels to me to be between 10-11lbs

Here are a couple of pics of a friend shooting my 2 3/4" M69.

I have close to 6,000 rnds of these loads thru three guns and don't ever remember seeing muzzle flash. I have never shot them in the dark however.

Mine are equipped with Hogue 500 X frame grips both factory orig and modified to eliminate finger groves and round butt. Here's a pic with the round butt modified grips.

Heavy .44 Special loads is what this kind of revolver would be best at.

It's a shame they don't make a blued model, or else I'd probably for sure jump on the Smith & Wesson club.

Heavy 44 spl loads?? I think Skeeter would approve!!
If I were to buy one i'd have a longer barrel installed. Somewhere in the 4 5/8ths inch neighborhood would fit the bill nicely.

*Edit
After a quick check of S&W's website I see they offer the M69 with a 4.25" barrel. Looks like i'll be gettin my Skeeter on sooner than I thought!!

Put a few cylinders worth through it today. Wanted to head to the range but it's just too hot for me. 95* at the moment with 60% humidity and a heat advisory. So I just shot it a bit in the backyard (perfectly legal and safe, i just don't do it much to be courteous to my 70 year old neighbor. )

Shot 15 240gr xtreme plated over 8 grains unique, and 5 240 xtp's over 23.5 win296
The unique load is very tame out of my 8 3/8" M29, and the 296 load is stout enough.

All shots were on the 8" ar500 gong at 20yds. The unique loads weren't terrible recoil wise, but you could definitely feel them. The 296 loads were quite a handful with a lot of muzzle flip. I'm ready for a little cooler weather so I can spend some serious range time with and get comfortable with it. I'll probably load up a mid range 240 hardcast load for woods carry, something that will hit hard, penetrate, and be quicker on followup than the 296 load I currently have.

Oh I feel you. The 296 load is definitely Ruger Blackhawk category.
Try some Blue dot. I use around 15 grains of the stuff in a 240 grain load for 44 Mag. Works very well, doesn't recoil too hard. But I've only tried this in a Blackhawk, so recoil perception might be completely different in the M69.
