I have the stupidest habit of not wearing my gloves, I'll bring them and not wear them for hours sometimes until my hands get cold lol. I do like the open finger type with the mittin I call them bum gloves. Have to pick up a new par one got miss placed last sason.
Those are the best. Especially the hot hands ones with the pouch for hand warmers.

Long waisted. Bibs and jacket- no coveralls.
We talk guns and scopes and bullets and racks.

But really, the older one gets the more we should focus on good clothing.
Can't tough it out like I used to.

Discomfort used to be tolerated to some extent.
Now I wuss out and go to the truck if not dry and warm.

I like bow season, right before gun._ first week or two in Nov).
Dress kinda light, as I'll get down and go after em, or change stands........mobility in and out of a stand important.
Can draw and twist around without a problem.
However, I tend to run on the chilly side.

My bud stays warm, but at the cost of mobility. He's been unable to draw a couple of times.

We hunt pretty close to the truck, and I'll bail and warm up, eat, and then go back out for a bit.
My leaving and returning does not affect his hunting. And if he does it, it doesn't affect mine.
But the area allows for such.

Hunting bigger public land, getting way back, you're stuck with whatever you have for the day.
Some not so fun hunts doing that.

I suggest sitting in an elevated shooting house in comfortable boots, jeans, a T-shirt and long sleeved sweatshirt, a ball cap, no gloves and an infrared propane fired heater. You might want gloves for the walk out and back to the truck/house.

If I had my own land I'd build one, well maybe a few lol, some guys may say that's cheating but I hunt for meat and I've done my share of sitting out in the cold or wet.

We can shoot game with inexpensive guns and bows. But if we can't stay in the stand/field/woods/ & hills we won't shoot many trophies. Good quality clothes is good quality equipment.

Having moved FROM Upstate NY to East TN I have shed my heavy hunting clothes for mostly T-shirts and hoodies with the occasional jacket and BDUs. I like the Propper clothes. They frequently supply DOD contracts and I have found them to be quite durable and inexpensive:

These and some appropriate long johns:

In the extreme cold I would look at the heat suits mentioned above.

Good waterproof insulated boots, if sitting in a field bibs & jacket with a hood or hoodie keeps that cold air off your neck and going down your back.

If stalking jeans and a hoodie.
Gloves I like the flip back fingerless mittens with hand warmers when needed.
Warmest jacket I found was a surplus green swedish lined overcoat it's too hot to wear above 10 derees.

What do you prefer,

Pants and jacket.

bibs and jacket.

coveralls.

Insulated or not and what weather/ temp.

Interested in what you all like best, I'd like to pick up some new stuff since my hunting clothes what's left is worn out or doesn't fit no more. I'm a big guy so 99% of stuff in stores won't fit, I have been looking on the bigcamo website. They got big sizes and prices look reasonable.

I'm thinking bibs and jacket.
I didn't read through this. But I'll tell you Whitetail season in Minnesota can vary from °55 to -°10 or more. I just always layer up. That's the key.

I usually do two long Johns then Jeans. Carhartt bibs. Sweatshirt. Carhartt coat. Then a blaze orange coat. A lot of pockets for snickers and...

I also bring the little heating packs. But idk where your hunting at. Cell phone and compass is number one.
