I would never hunt 1911 or use one for self-defense.
Too many reliability issues plus limited capacity Plus exorbitant pricing equals
No.
I already have a better gun than that in the Glock 40 long slide.

But for all you 10 mm fans Myself included
What Optic would you put on either a Springfield XDM OSP or Glock 40 MOSand what mounting plates that are compatible come with them from the factory?

Not seen the reliability issues of a 1911........in good gear.
Not cheap.........but then I'm worth it.
Id sure hunt one in 10mm on deer.
Trust my life to one........in .45 acp.
Almost 30 yrs and it's been flawless. New was $675 back then.
Bargain IMHO. Great trigger, accurate (note I did yank the plastic MS housing out right off the bat and go w a Pachmayr arched steel/rubber coated). I saw a plastic MS housing crack on a rather new 1911 and didn't want to risk it.

As a side note, how rare is the .41Mag version? I picked this up, ironically enough, on the day that I was supposed to confirm my order for a new .44 version. This one was in the used case and I got it instead and ordered a .44 conversion kit before realizing that the new barrels were not compatible with the earlier guns. Was thinking about selling it and ordering a .50AE version.

I'm not a DE expert, as evidenced above, but from what I've seen, the .41 magnum DE is pretty rare, certainly enough so that it commands a premium. My understanding is you can convert your (what looks like a MK1) .41 to .50, but you'll need a mk19 slide and .44/.50 bolt as well as the conversion barrel.
To convert yours to .44, you'll need a mk1 .44 bolt and barrel, since it looks like your current slide and barrel is a MK1. If you can't find a mk1 bolt and barrel, you'll need a mk19 slide as well as a mk19 bolt and barrel.

Since that is a whole heap of trouble and probably pretty expensive, I'd agree that your best bet is just selling your .41 magnum for a premium, and buying a MK19 as you want it.

How do you feel about 454 compared to 50 AE? Do you have any experience with the new 429?
Different animals, the .50AE isn't really in the same league as the .454. The .50ae in energy is basically a hot .44 magum...325 gr. At 1300fps or so.
I haven't had any experience with the .429, but I've read it's having teething problems

Your #4 plate for your Glock MOS should fit the Delta Point. Not sure if any of them fit the vortex. Of your options I'd likely use the 10mm with the red dot.

I also use a longslide 10mm, but mine is a 1911.
Have you done taking deer with 10 mm?
Does it put them down well out to 70 yards?
Who has actually taken deer with 10 mL?
How does compare vs. 357 and 44 Magnum?

I've shot Texas does (i.e. small deer) and hogs with 10mm, from about 20-55 yards. Never shot one at 70 yards, but the ones at closer ranges went down without running far. Never hunted with .357 or .44, I built the 10mm longslide to try handgun hunting. It was successful and fun, but for the past few years almost all of my hunting is either birds or fish.

ETA: I was pretty sure I posted about it when I got it, and was able to find the thread:

Didn't realize it had been over a decade since the build.

If I had the money I would make you a fair offer on it. Good looking gun.
